Jannik Sinner Joins Iga Świątek, Daniil Medvedev Mid-Chat in Madrid Practice As Aryna Sabalenka Watches

Sinner is enjoying a dominant run, having completed the rare Sunshine Double and most recently clinched the 2026 Monte-Carlo Masters title. Riding a streak of three consecutive Masters 1000 triumphs and boasting a 24–2 win-loss record, the world No. 1 heads into the tournament as a true favorite.

However, the field remains fiercely competitive, with Daniil Medvedev emerging as one of his closest challengers in the men’s draw. The Russian has already secured titles in Brisbane and Dubai this season and finished runner-up at Indian Wells after losing to Sinner. He now arrives in Madrid aiming to capture his first Masters 1000 crown of the season.

Świątek, meanwhile, has yet to truly assert herself this season, with her campaign repeatedly ending at the quarterfinal stage. Now working with new coach Francisco Roig, the Pole continues her search for rhythm, most recently bowing out in the last eight in Stuttgart.

Ahead of fully turning their focus to the Madrid Open, Świątek, Medvedev, and Sinner were seen together, showcasing their close bond on the practice courts at Caja Mágica. In a clip making waves online, Iga Świątek and Daniil Medvedev are deep in conversation as Sinner walks in, greets them, and reaches for his racket.

Meanwhile, another image making waves on X captures the same exchange from a different angle, this time bringing Aryna Sabalenka into the frame as she watches on, an element missing from the earlier clip.

Sabalenka has also maintained her high standards in 2026, compiling a dominant 23–1 record and capturing three titles, including the Sunshine Double. The Belarusian suffered her only defeat in the Australian Open final and now arrives in Madrid looking to carry that momentum forward.

Jannik Sinner, the top seed in the men’s draw, will open his campaign against Benjamin Bonzi in the second round. Daniil Medvedev, meanwhile, faces the winner of the first-round clash between Fábián Marozsán and Ethan Quinn. In the women’s draw, top seed Aryna Sabalenka is set to take on Peyton Stearns in the second round, while Iga Świątek will face Daria Snigur.
