Jannik Sinner has once again found himself at the center of a doping controversy, although this time not due to any fault on his part. Recently, 18-year-old American tennis player Jessica Eudovic tested positive for clostebol, the same prohibited substance for which Sinner had previously tested positive and subsequently served a three-month ban earlier this year.
The doping incident involving Eudovic sparked various reactions from tennis fans, who took to social media and expressed their opinions.

Sinner tested positive for clostebol twice in March 2024. Following these positive tests, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) conducted an investigation, which concluded that the Italian was not responsible for the anti-doping rule violations.
As a result of this ruling, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) challenged the decision and sought a suspension. However, after reviewing Sinner’s explanation for how clostebol entered his system, WADA agreed to impose a three-month suspension, which Sinner served from February 2025 to May 2025.
Meanwhile, Eudovic has been provisionally suspended under the Tennis Anti-Doping Programme (TADP) after a metabolite of clostebol was detected in her system. She provided an in-competition sample in October 2025 while competing in Santa Tecla, El Salvador, which tested positive for the substance.
Earlier this month, Eudovic filed an appeal against her provisional suspension, but it was dismissed by an independent chair, who stated that the appeal was “insufficient to meet the threshold required to lift a Provisional Suspension.”
Reacting to Eudovic’s provisional suspension, one fan suggested that the American may not have been able to hire a lawyer who knew the ins and outs of the ITIA rules, a factor that likely allowed Sinner to explain the details of his case better.
“The main issue for lower ranked players is that there is a good chance their appeal can be dismissed due to it being submitted without the help of top lawyers who know the in and outs of ITIA rules,” the fan said.
According to the details of Sinner’s case, his physiotherapist, Giacomo Naldi, accidentally contaminated himself with clostebol after using an over-the-counter spray containing the substance on a cut before providing massages to the Italian, without wearing gloves.
Another fan made a sarcastic remark about the discourse surrounding Eudovic’s case.
“Clostebol, you say? I’m sure the discourse around this will be entirely rational and measured lol,” a fan wrote.
Here are some other fan reactions:

Despite a ‘no fault and negligence’ verdict from the ITIA, the WADA argued that the player should hold sone responsibility for his team member’s error. After serving his three-month suspension, Sinner returned to the court for the 2025 Italian Open, where he finished as the runner-up to Carlos Alcaraz.
He then went on to win five tournaments: the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, the China Open, the Vienna Open, the Paris Masters, and the ATP Finals, having also won the Australian Open in January.
