    ‘Everybody Was Talking About Amanda Anisimova, but I Was Also Stressed as Hell’ — Iga Świątek Makes Feelings Clear on Wimbledon Act

    Iga Świątek recently opened up about her experience at Wimbledon 2025 final against Amanda Anisimova, discussing the intense pressure she faced throughout the tournament and reflecting on the mental challenges that came with competing at one of tennis’s most prestigious events.

    Iga Świątek’s Impressive Wimbledon Win Against Amanda Anisimova and Dominant Final Performance

    Świątek captured her maiden Wimbledon title in commanding fashion, defeating American Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes to become a six-time Grand Slam champion. The historic 6-0, 6-0 scoreline marked the first “double bagel” in a Wimbledon women’s final since 1911, cementing her dominance on grass courts in what had been her most challenging surface.

    Yet Świątek was quick to clarify that she was under immense pressure. She emphasised that both finalists experienced significant mental strain during the championship match.

    “I can only say that this tournament shows tennis is such a mental sport,” she stated. “This part of the game has a huge impact on everything and on the results of each player.”

    She stressed the difficulty of competing on Centre Court, describing it as “a surreal experience,” and expressed satisfaction with how she managed the pressure. “I’m really happy I handled the pressure well, because after the final, everybody was talking about Amanda being stressed or something, but I was also stressed as hell; playing the final of Wimbledon on Centre Court is a surreal experience.”

    Before her breakthrough performance, Świątek had entered the tournament as the eighth seed and had never won a title on grass. Her previous best performance at the Championships had been reaching the quarterfinals, making her triumph a significant milestone in her career.

    Świątek’s and Anisimova’s Respective Wimbledon  2025 Campaigns

    Świątek dropped only one set throughout her Wimbledon campaign, enjoying a smoother path to the finals. In the quarterfinals, she defeated the 19th seed Liudmila Samsonova in a one-hour-49-minute match. She then went on to face the unseeded Belinda Bencic in the semifinals, delivering another masterpiece in one hour and 12 minutes to reach her maiden Wimbledon final.

    Anisimova, on the other hand, reached the championship match after a tough and mentally In the quarterfinals, she beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 6-1, 7-6 (9), and earlier in the tournament, she fought past Linda Nosková 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 in the fourth round, showing her resilience and fighting spirit throughout a grueling run.

    The 24-year-old pulled off a stunning upset in the semifinals when she defeated World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 in a two-hour-37-minute match. This remarkable victory marked Anisimova’s first Grand Slam final appearance.

    The final itself showed just how different the two players performed on the day. Anisimova struggled from the opening games, winning just 35% of her second-serve points and converting only 26% of her first-serve points. The American recorded five double faults and made 28 unforced errors across the 12 games she contested.

    Świątek, by contrast, played nearly flawless tennis, making only 11 unforced errors and converting six of her nine break-point opportunities. The Polish champion won 72% of her first-serve points and took control of the match with her aggressive baseline play and smart court positioning throughout.
