Eiza González Shares Support As Grigor Dimitrov Prepares for Paris Comeback
In July 2025, Dimitrov suffered a pectoral muscle injury during his fourth-round match at Wimbledon against eventual champion Jannik Sinner. Leading 6-3, 7-5, 2-2, Dimitrov was forced to retire mid-match due to the injury, a setback that led to his withdrawal from some of the biggest tournaments on the Tour, including the US Open the following month. This left fans and the tennis world anxiously awaiting news of his recovery.
Now, as Dimitrov returns to competitive play at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Paris, Gonzalez took to Instagram to share a short clip of him in practice in La Défense Arena, writing, “So so so proud of you. He’s back 🫶🤍.”

Dimitrov and Gonzalez began dating in early 2025. Their relationship became public in April when Gonzalez attended one of Dimitrov’s matches at the Madrid Open. In May 2025, they made their relationship Instagram official, with González sharing affectionate posts and calling Dimitrov “the man of my dreams.” Since then, they’ve appeared together at events like the Cannes Film Festival and Milan Fashion Week.
When Dimitrov Labeled His Wimbledon Injury As the Most Difficult Chapter in His Tennis Career
Following his Round of 16 exit at the All England Club, Dimitrov took to Instagram to express his feelings about the setback.
“Sometimes the heart wants to keep going… but the universe has a different plan for us. Having to withdraw from this match at Wimbledon was one of the most painful moments of my career,” Dimitrov wrote.
“Thank you for the overwhelming wave of love – from family, friends, fans, colleagues, to the entire tennis community… your messages have genuinely lifted me through these hard times. Thank you all. Truly. Recovery starts now. I’ll see you all soon. G,” he added.
Looking ahead, Dimitrov will make his 13th appearance in Paris, where he will face Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first round. This will be their first meeting on the ATP Tour, with the winner facing either Jaume Munar or 11th seed Daniil Medvedev in the second round.
