Frances Tiafoe’s girlfriend, Ayan Broomfield, had flown to Cannes to attend the 78th annual Cannes Film Festival
Broomfield, a former NCAA Division I women’s doubles champion at UCLA, has seamlessly blended her athletic background with a burgeoning career in entertainment. She has been pursuing her career beyond tennis, including her notable work as a body double in the film ‘King Richard’ and other modeling gigs. Their relationship started back in 2015 through a mutual friend and went public on Instagram in 2018.
Their recent time apart was largely due to their professional commitments, while Broomfield initially traveled with Tiafoe to Monte Carlo to support him during the early stages of his clay court campaign, she had to leave to fulfill her entertainment industry engagements. Meanwhile, Tiafoe recently battled through a tough second-round loss to Sebastian Ofner at the Italian Open before heading to France for Roland Garros.
The couple’s reunion in Cannes was highlighted in Broomfield’s TikTok video shared on Instagram Stories. She captioned the clip: “POV it’s been five weeks apart.”

In addition to the reunion video, Broomfield also shared a lighthearted moment from a beach getaway a few days ago where Tiafoe faced a cheeky seagull eyeing his meal.

Ayan Broomfield Revealed How She and Frances Tiafoe Fell in Love as Teenagers
Ayan Broomfield, Frances Tiafoe’s girlfriend, shared how they first met. In March 2025 on Tennis Channel’s “Second Serve,” she explained that a mutual friend and fellow player, Victoria Duval, introduced them. The Canadian said they started as friends before their relationship grew, joking that Duval is definitely invited to their wedding.
“I met Frances, so we both knew about each other, but I met him in person in 2015,” Broomfield told Tennis Channel. “Actually, a former player named Victoria Duval, she knew both of us individually and she kind of peeped in Frances’ ear and said, ‘I think you guys would be fun together, I think you would have a good time.’ And so, Frances reached out and we became friends for about six months.”
“At first we became best friends, and then he asked me out and it’s been history. It’s been a while. We always tell her, ‘you’ll be at the wedding,'” she added.
