Tiafoe started her campaign in Acapulco with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Nuno Borges in the first round, followed by a 6-4, 3-6, 7-6 (7) win over compatriot Aleksandar Kovacevic in the second round, where the eighth seed had to save a couple of match points to win the match.
In the quarterfinals, he put forward another routine performance, winning 6-3, 6-4 against Mattia Bellucci, after which he had to play against Brandon Nakashima in the semifinals. Despite Nakashima having the opportunity to serve the match out, Tiafoe recovered to win 3-6, 7-6 (6), 6-4.
Cobolli started with a fine 7-6 (3), 7-6 (3) win over the crowd favorite, Rodrigo Pacheco Méndez, in the first round in Acapulco, followed by a 6-4, 6-4 win over Dalibor Svrčina in the second round. In the quarterfinals, the Italian had another straight-set victory over the Chinese qualifier, Wu Yibing, winning 7-6 (4), 6-1. In the semifinals, he dropped a set against Miomir Kecmanović but won 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-4.

A lot will depend on Tiafoe, who is coming into the final after a grueling semifinal match. However, the American player has fought back from improbable positions at this event and has the head-to-head advantage over Cobolli, making him the slight favorite to win the title.
Pick– Tiafoe to win in three sets.
