Frances Tiafoe’s Girlfriend Ayan Broomfield Doesn’t Miss Out on His Mexican Open Match Despite Travelling

Tiafoe is seeded eighth at the 2026 Mexican Open, and he began his run in the tournament by defeating Nuno Borges with a score of 6-4, 6-4 in the first round. He then advanced past Aleksandar Kovacevic, winning 6-4, 3-6, 7-6(7) in the second round. Most recently, the former World No. 10 faced Mattia Bellucci in the quarterfinals and secured a 6-3, 6-4 victory.

During Tiafoe’s quarterfinal match, Broomfield was traveling. She shared a picture of herself wearing Lululemon’s women’s Steady State oversized track pants and an oversized funnel full-zip jacket in navy blue. In the photo, she is seen posing between two Rimowa Original Trunk S aluminum suitcases and a Louis Vuitton Keepall Bandoulière 50 travel bag.

Broomfield also posted a picture of herself on an airplane, making sure to catch Tiafoe’s quarterfinal match at the Mexican Open.

Before starting his campaign at the ATP 500 hard court tournament in Acapulco, Tiafoe participated in the 2026 Delray Beach Open, where he defeated Rinky Hijikata and Zachary Svajda before falling to Learner Tien.

Who Will Tiafoe Face at the 2026 Mexican Open SF?

Looking ahead, Tiafoe is set to face compatriot Brandon Nakashima in the semifinals of the 2026 Mexican Open. Before this tournament, Nakashima competed at the Delray Beach Open, where he eliminated Marin Čilić in the first round and then lost to qualifier Coleman Wong in the second round.

At the Mexican Open, Nakashima began his campaign by defeating Elias Ymer 6-3, 6-4 in the first round and then overcame qualifier Patrick Kypson 6-4, 6-4 in the second round. He secured his place in the semifinals against Tiafoe by defeating sixth seed Valentin Vacherot with a score of 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals.

Tiafoe and Nakashima have faced each other six times on the ATP Tour, with the former World No. 10 winning five of those encounters. Their most recent match was in the semifinals of the 2025 U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championships, where Tiafoe won 6-4, 7-6(3).

The winner of the semifinal match between Tiafoe and Nakashima at the 2026 Mexican Open will advance to face either fifth seed Flavio Cobolli or Miomir Kecmanović in the final of the tournament.
