Just weeks after making waves with his run to the quarterfinals of the French Open, Félix Auger-Aliassime has booked a spot among the final eight at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships. The Canadian’s tennis success has been bolstered by the unwavering support of his wife, Nina Aliassime, and the proud backing of his parents.
As Auger-Aliassime gears up for his highly anticipated showdown with Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals of the grass-court Major, here is everything to know about his support system.
A Closer Look at Félix Auger-Aliassime’s Relationship with Wife Nina
Auger-Aliassime was just 18 when equestrian Nina Ghaibi caught his eye in the stands at a tournament in March 2019. He invited her to dinner, and during their first date, the Canadian knew he had found his life partner, later describing it as “love at first sight.”
“After two hours, I told her this was the start of a long and beautiful future together, and within days, we both knew that we wanted to marry. I think that sums up our relationship quite well: never a sliver of doubt, instant comfortability, a young and innocent honesty, and love that never stopped growing from the moment we laid eyes on each other,” he told Vogue.
Five years later, during a romantic getaway to the Seychelles in November 2024, he got down on one knee. The couple got married in September 2025, honoring Nina’s Moroccan heritage with a beautiful ceremony in Marrakech.

The Canadian was overwhelmed with emotion on their wedding day, revealing that they both teared up when the officiant honored their late grandparents during the ceremony.
“The image of my beautiful wife walking with her father is an image I’ll forever cherish. It’s also hard to describe what a gift it was for us to look out into the incredible crowd. It brought tears to our eyes when the officiant mentioned the names of our grandparents, who are no longer with us yet whose presence is overwhelmingly strong in our hearts,” Auger-Aliassime said.
Despite busy schedules often keeping them apart, Nina has been by the world No. 4’s side during his Wimbledon campaign, proudly cheering him on as he continues the hunt for his maiden Grand Slam title.

Everything to Know About Félix Auger-Aliassime’s Family Support System
Félix Auger-Aliassime’s father, tennis instructor Sam Aliassime, played an instrumental role in his career by coaching him during his formative years. The world No. 4 has been open about his gratitude for his father, detailing the many sacrifices he made for their family after immigrating to Canada from Togo in West Africa.
“My father, Sam, came to Canada from Togo when he was 26, with my mum, Marie [from Quebec],” he told The Guardian in 2019. “For sure it was challenging for him. He left everything behind and was sacrificing a lot. The memory I have of growing up is my dad doing everything he could to make it work for us. We never really felt pressure. Everything he did was for the family and the kids.”
Sam, who now runs the Académie Aliassime in Québec, stepped back from coaching his son years ago, describing it as a “simple and easy decision” to hand over the reins to former French player Frédéric Fontang. However, he remained involved in his son’s career by speaking to the Canadian and Fontang at “the end of every tournament.”
While Sam devoted his attention to Félix and his older sister Malika Auger-Aliassime’s sporting interests during their childhood, their mother, Marie Auger, a child psychology teacher, ensured that their education remained a priority.
Speaking to Le Journal de Québec in 2022, Marie said she took great pride in hearing Auger-Aliassime being praised not only for his achievements on the court but also for his character.
“It makes me even happier when people tell me that Félix is a good person, that he’s intelligent, because as a parent, I didn’t raise a tennis player. I helped a child become a comfortable adult. It’s always been a family project, with his father, even though we’re divorced. And I look at him, and it’s true that he’s like that. But as a parent, you can’t take all the credit for that,” she said.

Buoyed by the support of his loved ones, No. 3 seed Félix Auger-Aliassime will aim to overcome a daunting challenge from No. 7 seed Novak Djokovic, with a spot in the semifinals at stake. If he emerges victorious against the seven-time Wimbledon champion, the Canadian will face either Jannik Sinner or Jan-Lennard Struff in the final four.
