Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf, two of tennis’ most iconic figures, recently celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary, offering fans a glimpse into their partnership on social media. Former Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard joined the celebration online by expressing admiration for the couple.
Andre Agassi Marks 24th Wedding Anniversary with Loving Tribute to Wife Steffi Graf
Agassi and Graf’s story began in 1992, when both players won singles titles at Wimbledon. Agassi, captivated by Graf’s elegance and poise during a French television interview, later described his admiration in his autobiography, Open. Although a dance at the post-tournament Wimbledon Ball had been canceled, the two met for the first official photo together, marking the start of a relationship that would eventually flourish years later.
Their paths crossed again in 1999 at the French Open and Wimbledon. A practice session arranged by their trainers initially left Graf puzzled since Agassi was married to actress Brooke Shields, and she had a boyfriend at the time. What she did not know was that Agassi was in the process of divorcing Shields. The two began developing a closer connection after Agassi sent Graf flowers and revealed his situation.
Their romance deepened over the next two years, culminating in a private wedding ceremony at their Las Vegas home in 2001. Barefoot in their courtyard and witnessed only by their mothers, the couple exchanged vows. They later welcomed two children, son Jaden Gil in 2001 and daughter Jaz Elle in 2003, who have explored interests outside of tennis, with Jaden particularly pursuing baseball.
To celebrate their 24th wedding anniversary, Agassi posted two photos on Instagram: one recent and another from their memorable Wimbledon triumph in 1992. He captioned the post, “24 years with this wonderful woman. Happy Anniversary, Steffi. You are my unicorn!”
The post drew widespread admiration from fans and fellow athletes, including Bouchard, who commented, “Best couple ever ❤️.”
