Former Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard recently enjoyed her first Laver Cup outing, sharing glimpses of the experience online. Known for seamlessly blending sports and style, Bouchard turned heads with a chic ensemble that perfectly reflected her flair.
Bouchard, who retired from the sport earlier in July after her Canadian Open campaign, explained how she kept her outfit pristine while traveling to the event’s opening night.
How Did Eugenie Bouchard Exude Elegance at the Laver Cup?
2014 was a breakthrough year for the young Canadian. She reached the semifinals at both the Australian Open and the French Open before making history as the first player from her country to reach the Wimbledon final, where she fell 6-3, 6-0 to Petra Kvitova. Her remarkable run propelled her to a career-high world ranking of No. 5.
In recognition of her remarkable progress, Bouchard earned the WTA’s Most Improved Player award in 2014 and was named Tennis Canada’s Female Player of the Year for three consecutive seasons (2013–2015).
After an illustrious career spanning nearly 14 years, Bouchard announced her retirement in a heartfelt Instagram post. She played her final professional match in the second round of the Canadian Open, where she lost to Belinda Bencic.
Yet, the Canadian hasn’t stepped entirely away from the sport. She made a glamorous appearance on the opening night of the Laver Cup, the prestigious event founded by 20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer. Bouchard dazzled in a striking red dress, which she revealed was designed by the renowned luxury fashion brand BOSS.
“My first @lavercup!! What a night 💃🏼✨,” she captioned her post.

The glamorous Canadian didn’t just pose with the coveted trophy; she also shared snapshots of her stunning look on Instagram Stories. In a playful revelation, she even admitted that she had to lie down in her Uber to keep her dress wrinkle-free.
“laying down in the uber to not wrinkle my boss dress,” she shared.

Stepping away from tennis didn’t dim Bouchard’s love for competition. In 2024, she ventured into the Professional Pickleball Association (PPA) Tour, making rapid progress and rising to No. 17 in the rankings.
Beyond the court, the Canadian stays active on social media, often sharing glimpses of her life and engaging with others’ posts. Recently, she reacted to photos on the Laver Cup’s official X account showing World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz enjoying a visit to Alcatraz Island.
