Eugenie Bouchard Involved in ‘Tipsy Tennis,’ With Hair Soaked in Champagne During British Virgin Islands Getaway

Settling into retirement, Eugenie Bouchard shared a playful slice of her island escape.

Eugenie Bouchard is fully leaning into her life after tennis, and her latest vacation update proves she has found a new kind of match to enjoy. The former Wimbledon finalist treated fans to a lighthearted peek into her holiday at the British Virgin Islands, where she jumped into a spirited round of what she jokingly called “tipsy tennis.” With a glass of alcohol in hand and a stunning island backdrop behind her, Bouchard shared the carefree moment online.

A Closer Look at Eugenie Bouchard’s British Virgin Islands Getaway

Bouchard’s trip took her to the Cape Stout Estate in the exclusive Moskito Islands, a private retreat known for hosting celebrity getaways. Since stepping away from the professional tour a few months back, she has been documenting her shift into a more relaxed, adventure-filled lifestyle, embracing the freedom of retirement after nearly two decades in the sport.

The Canadian star uploaded several Instagram stories detailing her unconventional on-court showing. In one picture, she could be seen with an alcoholic beverage in hand while describing the post-match scene that turned into an impromptu “tipsy tennis” showdown.

In her caption, she revealed that she had seen nothing like it, “after my big win we played ‘tipsy tennis’… never see anything like it.” Another photo showed her hair drenched in champagne, taken as a washroom mirror selfie. She later reshared an image of herself taking liquor shots during the game.

The post came as she continues to transition from her competitive chapter, which ended after her appearance at the 2025 Canadian Open in Montreal. That event capped a brief 2025 season in which she played the Hall of Fame Open, the Citi DC Open, and the Canadian Open, earning a first-round win over Emiliana Arango before bowing out to Belinda Bencic in the second round.

What Role Did Pickleball Play in Bouchard’s Life After Leaving Tennis?

In a conversation with Forbes earlier this year, Bouchard opened up about her shift into pickleball, noting that the move from tennis had been a “nice transition” for her. She stepped into the competitive scene by joining the Professional Pickleball Association Tour and officially launched her pro pickleball career in January 2024. Current PPA Tour standings list her at No. 9 in singles and No. 47 in doubles.

“Signing on to play in the PPA almost two years ago, I went from a full-time (pro) tennis player, to a part-time tennis player, on to pickleball in a way that was just a nice transition. It made the transition easy for me,” Bouchard said.

Bouchard said she was grateful to turn to pickleball, since having no direction after tennis would have been hard mentally and physically. She noted that staying active, traveling, and not leaving sports abruptly made her transition much easier.
