The 2026 HSBC Championships marked a spectacular start to the grass-court season. The WTA 500 tournament featured plenty of dramatic upsets. Elena Rybakina was sent packing early on by Katie Boulter, while second seed Amanda Anisimova was stunned by compatriot Iva Jovic.
Raducanu and Vekić were the last two players left standing at Queen’s Club, and it was the latter who triumphed in a pulsating final. For winning the HSBC Championships, Vekić will receive a large chunk of the tournament’s total prize money fund of $1.915 million.
As the 2026 Queen’s Club women’s singles champion, Vekić will receive $294,445 in prize money. For finishing as the runner-up at the HSBC Championships, Raducanu will earn $181,745 from the tournament’s prize purse.
In addition, Vekić will also receive 500 ranking points for her triumph at the 2026 HSBC Championships. As the beaten finalist at this iconic grass-court tournament, Raducanu will get 325 ranking points when the WTA Rankings are next updated on Monday.
Boulter and Jovic were both beaten in the semifinals and will get $104,770 in prize money. Meanwhile, Rybakina, Anisimova, KarolÃna PlÃÅ¡ková, and Kamilla Rakhimova will each earn $53,135 from the HSBC Championships for reaching the quarterfinals.
Vekić used her experience to her advantage and dispatched Raducanu in the final of the HSBC Championships. The win finally ended her run of five straight losses in title clashes at the WTA Tour and Challenger level.
The 29-year-old has shown glimpses of her quality this year, but was on top of her game in London. She made the most of her lucky loser opportunity and reached the final after defeating Mika Stojsavljevic, Marie Bouzková, PlÃÅ¡ková, and Boulter.
With a win over Raducanu in the final, Vekić clinched her fifth title on the WTA Tour and her second trophy on grass courts. The Paris Olympics silver medalist will now have her sights set on a repeat of her 2024 run at Wimbledon, where she made the semifinals.
The WTA Tour next turns its attention to the Berlin Open as the build-up to the Wimbledon Championships continues in full swing. Several of the world’s top women’s tennis stars will compete at the WTA 500 tournament as they ramp up their preparations for the third Grand Slam of the year.
