Emma Raducanu shared her thoughts on Jack Draper’s chances at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. Draper’s best result at this prestigious grass-court tournament has been reaching the second round twice – in 2022 and 2024.
In 2022, Draper defeated Zizou Bergs in the first round but lost to Alex de Minaur in the second round. Two years later, in 2024, the Brit won against Elias Ymer in the first round before being knocked out by fellow countryman Cameron Norrie in the second round.
Emma Raducanu Opens Up About Jack Draper’s Chances at Wimbledon Championships 2025
Raducanu is currently competing in the 2025 Queen’s Club Championships, having received a wild card entry into the main draw. She won her first round match against qualifier Cristina BucÈ™a with a scoreline of 6-1, 6-2. The 22-year-old followed that with a victory over Rebecca Å ramková, winning 6-4, 6-1, to secure her spot in the quarterfinals.
After her win against Å ramková, Raducanu was asked how her compatriot, Draper, would handle the home crowd’s expectations at Wimbledon, as he will be entering the tournament as one of the top players on the ATP Tour.
In response, the former US Open champion praised Draper as an “incredible competitor” and a “great tennis player.” She mentioned that the World No. 4 can block out external distractions and concentrate on his game, which is why he will perform well at the London Major.
“Yeah, I know Jack is an incredible competitor, a great tennis player, and I think when he’s out there in those moments on the court, all he’s thinking or is seeing is that yellow tennis ball, and I think he shuts off the crowd and the pressure really well. Yeah, I don’t really know a fighter like him. He competes incredibly well. I think he will do just fine,” Raducanu said during the post-match press conference.

In addition to Draper, players such as former champion Carlos Alcaraz, Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Ben Shelton, and Frances Tiafoe will also compete at this grass court tournament in London. Defending champion Tommy Paul has withdrawn from the tournament due to an abdominal strain.
Last year, at the 2024 Queen’s Club Championships, Draper defeated Mariano Navone in the first round, winning with a scoreline of 6-3, 6-2. In the second round, he triumphed over defending champion and top seed Alcaraz, prevailing 7-6(3), 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals. However, there he lost to fifth seed and eventual champion Paul with a score of 3-6, 7-5, 4-6.
