Coco Gauff Described Her Father as Her ‘Dream Fueler’

Coco Gauff’s parents are known to be her loudest and proudest supporters and often travel with her to tournaments.

The American tennis star recently took to Instagram to write a heartfelt note for her father Corey on his birthday.

“Happy birthday to the best to ever do it, the man with a plan and my dream fueler,” she wrote in and Instagram story where she shared a picture from her childhood with her dad on a tennis court. “I love you dad,” she added.

She shared another picture, with her caption reading:

“From the courts straight to the beach, the real and best Florida tennis dad.”

Earlier this year, Gauff became the first American woman to win the French Open since 2015, when Serena Williams took home the title.

Following the memorable win, Coco told “Good Morning America” how crucial her family has been in her road to success.

“The support that I have is amazing, and especially my parents, for them to sacrifice so much and come on the road, and my brothers sacrificing time with their parents, because they end up being there for me in those big moments. I truly can’t do it without them,” she said.

After a few lackluster weeks following her success at Roland-Garros, Gauff found form again at the ongoing Cincinnati Open, where she made the quarterfinals. However, the 21-year-old was ousted by the No. 7 seed Jasmine Paolini in a tight three-set encounter.
