Coco Gauff’s Parents Candi and Corey Enjoy Time With Family While She Reaches Beijing Ahead of Title Defense

Coco Gauff's parents enjoyed some quality time with friends while she traveled to Beijing for the China Open, where she will be defending her title.

Coco Gauff’s parents, Candi and Corey Gauff, recently enjoyed some quality time with friends and family while the World No. 3 traveled to Beijing for the 2025 China Open, where she will be defending her title.

The China Open is scheduled to take place at the National Tennis Center in Beijing from September 24 to October 6, 2025. In addition to the two-time Grand Slam champion, other top players expected to participate in the WTA 1000 hard-court tournament include Iga Świątek, Madison Keys, Mirra Andreeva, Amanda Anisimova, Jasmine Paolini, Naomi Osaka, Elena Rybakina, and Emma Raducanu, among others.

Coco Gauff’s Parents Spend Time With Family While She Begins Title Defense at China Open 2025

Leading up to her run in the Asian swing of the tour, Gauff competed in the North American hard-court swing, participating in three tournaments: the 2025 Canadian Open, the Cincinnati Open, and the US Open.

Since then, the World No. 3 has traveled to Beijing for the China Open to begin her title defense. She shared a mirror selfie on social media, revealing that her journey took over 30 hours.

“33 hours later,” Gauff captioned her Instagram story.

While Gauff was in China, her parents, Candi and Corey, took the opportunity to relax and spend quality time with friends and family. Candi shared several pictures of them enjoying their time on a yacht, a beach, and much more.

Last year, during the China Open, Gauff’s mother accompanied her to Beijing. Before the tournament, the mother-daughter duo spent time sightseeing together and also celebrated after the World No. 3 won the title.

How Did Gauff Win the China Open Title Last Year?

In 2024, Gauff was seeded fourth at the China Open, and she started her campaign in the second round after receiving a bye in the first round. In her opening match, she defeated Clara Burel with a scoreline of 7-5, 6-3.

The World No. 3 then overcame the 26th seed, Boulter, with a score of 7-5, 6-2 in the third round. She then advanced to the quarterfinals after her fourth-round opponent, Naomi Osaka, retired from their match ahead of the third set with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 0-0 retd due to a lower back injury.

In the quarterfinals, Gauff eliminated qualifier Yuliia Starodubtseva, winning with a score of 2-6, 6-2, 6-2. The two-time Grand Slam champion then secured her place in the final by overcoming 15th seed Paula Badosa 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the semifinals.

In the championship match, Gauff faced off against Karolína Muchová and emerged victorious with a score of 6-1, 6-3, claiming the 2024 China Open title, her second WTA 1000 title, and her eighth career singles title.
