Where Will Coco Gauff Compete Next?
Following the conclusion of her 2025 French Open campaign, Gauff is set to kick off her grass-court season at the 2025 Berlin Tennis Open. The tournament will take place from Jun. 16 to Jun. 22, 2025, on the outdoor grass courts of the Rot-Weiss Tennis Club in Berlin, Germany.
Along with Gauff, players such as defending champion Jessica Pegula, Paula Badosa, Sabalenka, Elena Rybakina, Zheng Qinwen, Mirra Andreeva, and Madison Keys will compete at the WTA 500 grass court tournament in Berlin.
In 2024, Gauff defeated the likes of Ekaterina Alexandrova and Ons Jabeur before succumbing to the eventual champion, Pegula, in the semifinals. This year, Gauff is seeded second at the Berlin Tennis Open and will begin her campaign in the second round, having received a first-round bye. She is set to face either Daria Kasatkina or qualifier Wang Xinyu in her opening match.
Gauff and Kasatkina have met three times on the WTA Tour, with the former World No. 8 winning all three encounters. Their most recent clash occurred at the 2022 WTA Finals, where Kasatkina triumphed with a score of 7-6(6), 6-3.
On the other hand, Gauff has faced Wang once before on the WTA Tour, during the second round of the 2022 WTA German Open, where the World No. 2 emerged victorious with a commanding 6-0, 6-4 win. Here, Gauff went on to make a run to the semifinals before being defeated by the eventual champion, Jabeur.
