Coco Gauff’s boyfriend, Jalen Sera, recently reacted to her winning her first-round match at the 2025 US Open. The two-time Grand Slam champion confirmed her relationship with Sera, an Atlanta-based musician, in June 2025, revealing that they had been dating for two years.

The World No. 3 achieved her best result at Flushing Meadows in 2023, when she defeated Aryna Sabalenka in the final to claim her first Grand Slam title.

Coco Gauff’s Boyfriend Jalen Sera Celebrates Her 1st Round Victory Over Ajla Tomljanović at US Open 2025

Seeded third at the 2025 US Open, Gauff began her campaign against Ajla Tomljanović. Initially, she won the first set 6-4. However, the Australian fought back to take the second set 7-6 (2).

The former US Open champion stayed focused, maintained her composure, and rallied to win the third set 7-5. Gauff ultimately claimed the match with a score of 6-4, 6-7 (2), 7-5, improving her head-to-head record against Tomljanović to two wins and no losses.

Following her victory, Gauff took to social media and shared a series of pictures from the match, expressing that she had “survived” the match and advanced in the tournament.

Gauff’s boyfriend, Sera, responded to her post with an emoji, showing his support.

“💯,” Sera commented.

“👹,” Gauff replied.

In the lead-up to the US Open, Gauff participated in two hard-court tune-up tournaments: the 2025 Canadian Open and the Cincinnati Open. In Montreal, she was eliminated in the fourth round by eventual champion Victoria Mboko. She reached the quarterfinals in Cincinnati but lost to the eventual runner-up, Jasmine Paolini.

Gauff Will Face Donna Vekić at the 2025 US Open 2nd Round

Following her win over Tomljanović in the first round of the 2025 US Open, Gauff is set to face Donna Vekić in the second round of the tournament.

Before beginning her campaign at the last Grand Slam of the year, Vekić competed in the 2025 Cincinnati Open and the Monterrey Open. In Cincinnati, she was eliminated in the first round by Sorana Cîrstea, with a score of 1-6, 6-4, 3-6. However, in Monterrey, Vekic achieved a victory against wild card Maria Sakkari, winning 6-2, 6-3 in the first round, but then lost to fifth seed Elise Mertens in the second round with a score of 3-6, 3-6.

At the 2025 US Open, Vekić secured her place in the second round against Gauff by defeating Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro in her opening match, winning with a scoreline of 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Gauff and Vekić have played against each other twice on the WTA Tour, with each player winning once. Their most recent encounter was at the 2025 United Cup, where the World No. 3 won in straight sets.

The winner of the second-round match between the American and the Croat at the 2025 US Open will advance to the third round to face either the 28th seed Magdalena Fręch or Peyton Stearns.
