Carlos Alcaraz Makes His Feelings Known After Year-End World No. 1 Feat

Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz reflects his heartfelt thoughts on clinching the ATP Year-End No. 1 trophy for the second time.

For the second time in his young career, Carlos Alcaraz stands alone at the top of the tennis world. After a dominant 2025 season capped by clinching the prestigious Year-End No. 1 trophy at the Nitto ATP Finals, the Spanish sensation took a moment to thank the people who helped him get there.

He reflected on a journey that was anything but a solo effort, clinching the top spot in the Jimmy Connors group with a perfect 3-0 record by defeating Alex de Minaur, Taylor Fritz, and Lorenzo Musetti.

How Did Carlos Alcaraz Dominate the 2025 Season?

The native of El Palmar, Murcia, put together a remarkable season, clinching eight ATP singles titles. His year was highlighted by two Grand Slam victories at the French Open and the US Open, where he defeated world No. 2 Jannik Sinner in both finals. Additionally, his trophy case expanded with wins at the Rotterdam Open, the Monte Carlo Masters, the Rome Masters 1000, the Queen’s Club Championships in London, the Cincinnati Masters 1000, and the Japan Open.

The 2025 Nitto ATP Finals marked Alcaraz’s fourth career qualification, a notable return after an injury forced him to miss the event in 2022. After reaching the semifinals in 2023, he matched that performance this year by advancing to the same round with a decisive 6-4, 6-1 victory over Musetti.

Upon receiving his second career ATP Year-End No. 1 trophy, the 22-year-old shared his pride in securing the coveted award, presented by PIF, alongside his team. He also expressed his appreciation for his family and friends, adding, “It is a pleasure to be honest for me.

Being the number one of the world it’s something for that that I’m working really hard for with my team. Every day it is a goal. But I think it is a journey that you’re not going through alone. This is with your whole team with your family with your close people behind you always supporting you in the talk, in the good moments, which I’m really really proud about.”

He continued, “Having such a great team. Having this trophy once again the first one back in 2022. New members in the team that I’m really happy. I’m proud to share this moment with them. It’s a great achievement. I’m just really proud and happy.” Through his Instagram post, he also posted, “1️⃣❤️” to mark the significant achievement.

However, Alcaraz’s season isn’t over yet. He will represent Team Spain at the Davis Cup Finals 8, which will be held from November 18 to 23, 2025, at the Bologna Fiere exhibition center in Italy. He will be joined by teammates Jaume Munar, Pablo Carreño Busta, Pedro Martínez, and Marcel Granollers. Former ATP star David Ferrer will captain the team.
