Canada vs China Head-to-Head
Canada and China have yet to meet at the United Cup in the previous three editions.
Auger-Aliassime had a tremendous 2025 season, winning titles at Adelaide and Montpellier, and finishing as runner-up in Dubai and the Paris Masters. Meanwhile, Zhang played a limited number of matches last year, but made a winning start at this year’s United Cup, with a 6-7 (2), 7-6 (3), 7-5 victory over Zizou Bergs of Belgium.
On the women’s side, Victoria Mboko was one of the stars of the WTA Tour. The young Canadian made huge waves on the ITF and the Challenger Tours, winning five titles within the first half of the year. She made a smooth transition to senior level as well, winning a WTA 1000 title in Montreal, and ending the season with another title in Hong Kong. On the other hand, Zhu’s only success on the Tour came at the Ningbo Open, where she reached the quarterfinals.
Canada vs China Prediction
The men’s match between Auger-Aliassime and Zhizhen will definitely have the Canadian player as the pre-match favorite based on current form. However, it is the Chinese player who has a 1-0 lead in the head-to-head against the Canadian, having won 6-4, 6-4 in Marseille in 2024.
The WTA match will have Mboko as the favorite to win against Zhu, as the Canadian has demonstrated that she possesses the skills to compete at the top level of the sport. However, just like the men’s match, the women’s match also sees the Chinese player have a 1-0 head-to-head lead over her Canadian counterpart, as Zhu won 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 against Mboko at an ITF event in Monastir back in 2022.

The doubles match will potentially see Auger-Aliassime team up with Areana Arseneault, and Zhang and Zhu teaming up for China. The Chinese pair was already in action together during their tie against Belgium, and that will give them a slight edge over the Canadian pair, as Auger-Aliassime and Arseneault have not played any doubles tennis together.
Even though the doubles look a bit sketchy, Canada should be able to win the tie, as they have the higher-ranked singles players, both of whom are starting this season on the back of a strong 2025.
