Ben Shelton is moving ahead in his 2026 season after concluding his Australian Open campaign with a quarterfinal loss to World No. 2, Jannik Sinner. Ahead of his next tournament, the World No. 9 recently shared glimpses from his personal and professional lives featuring his girlfriend, soccer star Trinity Rodman, whom he has been dating since March 2025.

The American star has commenced his 2026 season at the ASB Classic, where he advanced to the quarterfinals, losing to Sebastian Baez. He then entered the first Grand Slam of the season, where he delivered impressive performances, overcoming talents such as Valentin Vacherot, Casper Ruud, and others to reach the quarterfinals, only to be stopped once again by Sinner.
In his 2025 season, Shelton’s campaign at Melbourne Park ended as the Italian star had defeated him in the semifinal stage. However, despite concluding his fourth Australian Open without the title, Shelton had shared a powerful and motivating message while revealing his moments from the tournament through his Instagram post, with the caption, “Failure only fuels me. Thanks Melbourne,” to which Rodman reacted, boosting his morale, “Proud of u always.”
In his recent Instagram post, the Georgia native shared glimpses of heartwarming moments with Rodman and their pet Dalmatian. Through the caption, Shelton added, “Flow state.”

Rodman, who has been supporting Shelton during his career, despite being an elite athlete herself, also revealed earlier during her appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” that she thinks the ATP star can surpass Sinner in the future, as he is improving day by day. She added, “Yeah, Sinner’s pretty good. So, I think at some point Ben will get him, but he’s getting better and better, and I’m proud of him for sure.”

Regarding his court action, Shelton will next compete at the 2026 Dallas Open, the hard-court ATP 500 event, to be held from February 9 to 15 at the Ford Center at the Star, with a prize money of US$2,833,335. The World No. 25, Denis Shapovalov, is the defending champion, and other stars competing along with Shelton are Taylor Fritz, Ruud, Tommy Paul, Grigor Dimitrov, and others.
Apart from his singles run, Shelton also shared his interest in teaming up for doubles, as he recently forwarded his message through his Instagram story, reflecting that he needs a partner, “I need a partner to play doubles with at the Dallas Open next week. Hit my line.”
Shelton made his debut at the Dallas Open in 2024, advancing to the singles semifinals and the doubles semifinals with World No. 85 Emilio Nava.
