Ben Shelton’s girlfriend, Trinity Rodman, has received support from her mother, Michelle Moyer, after calling out the media for mentioning her estranged father, former professional basketball player Dennis Rodman, during the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. She is currently in London to support the World No. 10 at the grass court Grand Slam.
Shelton and Rodman confirmed their relationship in March 2025. The latter is a professional soccer player who plays as a forward for the United States national team and the Washington Spirit in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

Born on May 20, 2002, Rodman is the daughter of Dennis, a five-time NBA champion, and Michelle. She has an older brother, DJ Rodman. Her parents separated when she was just a toddler, and their divorce proceedings lasted from 2004 to 2012.
While attending Shelton’s matches at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships alongside the World No. 10’s father and coach, Bryan Shelton, his mother, Lisa Witsken Shelton, and his sister, Emma, Rodman became frustrated with journalists and broadcasters repeatedly referencing her estranged father during the coverage of Shelton’s matches.
In light of this incident, Rodman took to social media and criticised the media for continually mentioning her father when discussing her. She initially corrected them for mispronouncing her name from “Trinity” to “Tiffany.”
“For those who don’t know…my name is TRINITY not Tiffany 😭 😂,” Rodman captioned her Instagram story.
The 20-year-old then expressed that she wants the media to refrain from mentioning Dennis during coverage of Shelton’s matches. She stated that she doesn’t want her absent father to be brought up during her match, much less during Shelton’s matches.
“Also, for Ben’s matches he has his family there as his support system, which includes his dad…my dads not even in MY life no need to bring him up during HIS matches when I don’t even want him talked about during mine. It’s him and his loved ones’ moment. Thank you 👍,” she added.
Reacting to Rodman’s social media post calling out the media, her mother, Michelle, expressed her support for the soccer player’s stance. She stated that:
“TRINITY.. nothin but class 🙏🏼 Couldn’t agree with you more❤️,” Michelle captioned her Instagram story.
How Has Ben Shelton Fared So Far at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships?
Before starting his campaign at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Shelton participated in three grass court tournaments: the BOSS Open in Stuttgart, the Queen’s Club Championships, and the Mallorca Championships. His best performance came in Stuttgart, where he reached the semifinals before losing to the eventual runner-up, Alexander Zverev.
Shelton is seeded 10th at the London Major and he began his run by defeating qualifier Alex Bolt 6-4, 7-6(1), 7-6(4), Rinky Hijikata 6-2, 7-5, 6-4, and lucky loser Márton Fucsovics 6-3, 7-6(4), 6-2 in the first three rounds, respectively. In the fourth round, he faced Lorenzo Sonego and secured a comeback victory, 3-6, 6-1, 7-6(1), 7-5, earning his place in the quarterfinals.

In the quarterfinals, Shelton will compete against top seed Jannik Sinner. The two players have met six times on the ATP Tour, with Sinner winning five of those matches. Their most recent encounter was in the semifinals of the 2025 Australian Open, where Sinner won in straight sets with a score of 7-6(2), 6-2, 6-2.
The winner of the quarterfinal match between Shelton and Sinner at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships will advance to face either sixth seed Novak Djokovic or 22nd seed Flavio Cobolli in the semifinals.
