The post came during a pivotal stretch for Shelton, who is currently competing at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships. As the tournament’s No. 10 seed, the 22-year-old American breezed past Australian qualifier Alex Bolt in straight sets in the first round.
His second-round clash against Rinky Hijikata was briefly suspended due to poor lighting, which was a frustrating call for Shelton, who was just one point away from victory. But once play resumed the next day, he wasted no time, sealing the win with a flurry of aces in just over a minute.

Shelton and Rodman first confirmed their relationship in March 2025 with a romantic Instagram post featuring a kiss and have since shared glimpses of their budding romance on social media.

Ben Shelton Recalls Rodman’s Amusing Introduction to Tennis
Shelton revealed that his girlfriend, Rodman, was taken aback by the calm and subdued vibe at professional tennis tournaments. During an interview with Tennis Channel, when asked about Rodman cheering him on courtside at multiple matches, he noted that she was most struck by how closed-off and quiet the tennis community appeared.
“It’s been pretty cool,” Shelton said. “It’s obviously a lot different atmosphere when you’re on a team and all the people are kind of like your best friends.”
“She’s come to the tennis events and kind of been like, ‘Oh, why did none of the girls talk to each other, or why does it seem like no one is really saying anything to each other, or kind of just doing their own thing, or being within their team?’”
“I’ve been like, ‘Yeah, I guess it’s different than normal sports because all the people you’re hanging out with are also your competitors.’”
Shelton moves on to the third round, where he’s set to take on lucky loser Márton Fucsovics. This will be their first meeting on the ATP Tour, with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals, where they will meet either 29th seed Brandon Nakashima or Lorenzo Sonego.
