Aryna Sabalenka’s Career Fueled by Off-Court Achievements

Sabalenka staged a thrilling campaign in Tennis Paradise, battling past stars like Naomi Osaka, Victoria Mboko, and Linda Nosková, and others to earn her spot in the final. There, she turned the tables on Rybakina, who had bested her in both the 2026 Australian Open final and the 2025 WTA finals, delivering a commanding victory.

The duo has clashed 16 times, with their final-round meetings including the 2023 Australian Open, the 2023 Indian Wells, and the 2024 Brisbane International. Shifting to her life beyond the court, this month Sabalenka revealed her engagement to Georgios Frangulis, whom she has been dating since 2024.

Apart from this exciting news, the WTA star has also grown her family by adopting an adorable four-legged furball named Ash, a Cavalier King Charles spaniel. Her heartwarming developments, which are significantly impacting her career, recently caught the attention of four-time Grand Slam champion Kim Clijsters.

Through the recent episode of her podcast ‘Love All with Kim Clijsters,’ the icon shared her thoughts on the importance of the team around the player and how Sabalenka’s team environment and off-court activities are positively influencing her career.

She expressed, “The off-court stuff, the on-court is really exciting to see. You can see her energy, how she shows us, right? Like she is how she is in the press conferences, and it’s really exciting to see a team like hers all work together and be a part of it because that’s what it is. You’re not just married to the tennis life, right? But you’re also married to your whole team because those are the people you see every day from the moment that you wake up and you have breakfast together to when you go to dinner or you prepare your matches the night before.”

Clijsters continued, heartwarmingly praising the presence of Ash and revealing that the sport can sometimes become repetitive and mentally draining, adding, “It’s really nice to see their team clicking and just super exciting for her to have that trophy and all the other, the puppy has been fun to watch.”

She continued, “That’s what it takes at times because tennis alone can be – I’m not saying boring, but it’s a lot of the same thing over and over again and the same people and media, and it’s just different locations, and after a while it can get boring. So for her to bring the puppy on, it creates some new energy as well in her camp.”

Coming onto her court action, Sabalenka will be storming into the Miami Open as the top seed, with the tournament taking place from March 15 to 29, 2026, at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida.
