Aryna Sabalenka’s boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, recently shared his heartfelt reaction to the former’s photoshoot while holding the coveted WTA year-end No. 1 trophy, which was presented to her with a special ceremony. The Belarusian star, who was the first to qualify for the WTA Finals, has been enjoying a steady relationship with her boyfriend since 2024.
How Did Georgios Frangulis React to Aryna Sabalenka’s World No. 1 Trophy Photoshoot?
The World No. 1 was presented with the prestigious WTA year-end No. 1 trophy during a presentation at the WTA Finals. With this achievement, she has become one of the twelve players to have retained the year-end No. 1 ranking multiple times.
At the start of the year, she won the Brisbane International after defeating Polina Kudermetova and the Miami Open after defeating Jessica Pegula. Furthermore, she clinched the Madrid Open after surpassing Coco Gauff, and she successfully defended her US Open title after defeating Amanda Anisimova in the final match.
Apart from her titles, she reached eight finals this season, marking a significant journey in her career. She reached the season-ending championship with her No. 1 spot. She received her WTA Finals trophy during an on-court ceremony, presented by Mohamed AlSayyad, who is the Head of the Corporate Brand and Strategic Advisory Department at PIF.
On WTA’s official Instagram post, which featured Sabalenka donning an elegant black blazer and holding her trophy, Frangulis shared his heartfelt thoughts, adding, “🤩”

Considering her successful season, the winner of 21 WTA Tour singles titles, including four majors, said, “This means a lot to me. We’ve put a lot of hard work in this year, and hard work pays off. Every final and every match was incredible. I’m super proud of the season and hopefully I can finish on a very good note here in Riyadh.”
In her first match at the WTA Finals, Sabalenka faced Italian Jasmine Paolini and defeated her with a concluding score of 6-3, 6-1. The Minsk, Belarus, native dominated their head-to-head, and before this match, the duo competed in the semifinal round of the Boss Open, which Sabalenka clinched.
During her on-court interview, Sabalenka expressed her thoughts on Paolini, adding, “She’s a tough opponent. We played (against each other) a lot and every time it’s a tough battle. Doesn’t matter what the score. I know that I always have to stay focused. If you give her an opportunity, she’s going to step in and take control of the game. I’m mostly happy with my focus today. I felt like everything was in control.”
Despite qualifying for the WTA Finals and taking away the year-end trophies, Sabalenka has not won any tournaments. Her most notable feat was reaching the title-winning round at the WTA Finals in 2022, where she eventually lost to Caroline Garcia.
