‘Full of Confidence’ — Jannik Sinner’s Ex-girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya Backs Him at the French Open

Anna Kalinskaya publicly supports her ex-boyfriend Jannik Sinner to win the French Open, calling him full of confidence.

Given his 2026 season and ironclad grip on the world No. 1 ranking, Jannik Sinner is the obvious pick to conquer the red clay of Roland Garros this time. The Italian has pundits and peers alike betting on him to win his 6th title in a row. Among them was the 22nd seed and his ex-girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya, who showed no doubt that Sinner is destined for greatness alongside 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic, while also plotting a massive plot twist of her own.

Anna Kalinskaya Predicts Ex Jannik Sinner to Win French Open While Eyeing Surprise Title Run

During a chat with Tennis Channel where pros predict this year’s French Open winners, the Russian offered a candid take.

“Jannik. He’s full of confidence, and it would be great if it’s Novak as well to make such history,” said Kalinskaya. “About the women, I hope it’s going to be me, and it’s going to be a big surprise for everyone.”

Although Kalinskaya and Sinner’s highly publicized romantic relationship has come to an end, it seems there is no shortage of respect between them.

They began dating privately in April 2024, with Sinner publicly confirming their relationship at that year’s French Open. Throughout the 2024 season, the pair frequently supported each other from the player boxes at major tournaments, including Wimbledon and the US Open, where they celebrated Sinner’s title victory together on court.

However, the intense media scrutiny and the pressure of balancing high-profile romance with career took a toll, leading to a quiet social media unfollow by late 2024. The split was official when Sinner announced he was single during a press conference at the Italian Open in May 2025.

Djokovic just won his first-round battle against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard on Court Philippe-Chatrier, aiming for his historic 25th Grand Slam title. For Sinner, if he wins, this will be his fifth Major.

Sinner plays his first-round match against French wildcard Clement Tabur today, as the night-session match on Court Philippe-Chatrier, starting not before 8:15 p.m. CEST (2:15 p.m. ET).

Meanwhile, Kalinskaya is looking to make a deep run, as her best results in 2026 were reaching the quarterfinals at Qatar and Charleston. 2024 was a massive breakout season for her, with a quarterfinal run at the Australian Open and a marquee finals appearance in Dubai, where she defeated multiple top-10 players. On Tuesday, she officially opens her Roland Garros campaign against Lois Boisson.
