Andre Agassi To Play First Professional Pickleball Match Alongside Anna Leigh Waters
Agassi has been playing pickleball for some time now. He began playing the sport with his family in 2020, and since then, he has competed in all three editions of the Pickleball Slam and won all of them.
In the first year, he won the Slam alongside Andy Roddick and then in the next two years claimed the title alongside his wife Steffi Graf. On the other hand, Anna Leigh Waters has been playing pickleball professionally since the age of 12. She is currently ranked World No.1 in singles, doubles, and mixed doubles.
Agassi took to social media to share the promotional video of his and Waters’ upcoming mixed doubles match at the 2025 U.S. Open Pickleball Championships.
“You ready? @usopenpickleball @a.l.waters_a1 x @agassi,” Agassi captioned his Instagram post.

Andre Agassi Gets Candid About Playing Pickleball Alongside Anna Leigh Waters
While speaking about teaming up with Anna Leigh Waters for the mixed doubles event at the 2025 U.S. Open Pickleball Championships, Andre Agassi humorously suggested that the 18-year-old must be “tired” of winning, which is why she chose to partner with him.
Agassi also praised Waters as one of the “greatest” pickleball players of all time and acknowledged that his main challenge in playing alongside her will be to not jeopardize her chances of winning
“It was very apparent that Anna Leigh was very tired of winning. She wanted to add a little spice to her life and make it quite the difficult challenge. She’s right up there with the greatest ever in what she does and the idea of challenging myself to not screw things up for her is daunting,” Agassi said [as quoted by The Athletic].
