Agassi’s Passion for Pickleball Following Legendary Tennis Career
Agassi discovered pickleball during the pandemic when his family introduced him to the sport. The eight-time Grand Slam winner didn’t know the rules initially but got hooked quickly and began playing multiple times weekly, drawn to the social aspects and strategy.
He invested significantly in pickleball beyond playing. In January 2024, he joined a group purchasing controlling interest in DUPR, a leading rating system, where the investors contributed $8 million to expand the platform. He partnered with Joola in August 2024 to develop his signature paddle line, earning recognition in the field.
His professional debut came at the US Open Pickleball Championships in Naples, Florida, on April 29, 2025, one day after turning 55. He partnered with Waters in mixed doubles and defeated two younger players 11-8, 9-11, 11-7 before reaching the quarterfinals.
Bouchard reached the Wimbledon final in 2014 and achieved a No. 5 world ranking. Following injuries that limited her tennis career, she joined the PPA Tour in 2024 and is currently ranked No. 17 in pickleball.
