Amanda Anisimova vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova Preview

Anisimova is enjoying a fairytale run on grass this season. She began her campaign at the Queen’s Club Championships as the eighth seed, defeating Jodie Burrage and Sonay Kartal in the early rounds. The American then upset Emma Navarro in the quarterfinals and edged past top seed Zheng Qinwen in the semifinals before falling to German veteran Tatjana Maria in the final.

She also made a strong run at the Berlin Tennis Open, defeating former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu and Magdalena Fręch before falling in straight sets to Liudmila Samsonova in the quarterfinals.

The 23-year-old carried her momentum into Wimbledon, starting with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 win over Yulia Putintseva. She then got past Renata Zarazúa and Dalma Gálfi to reach the fourth round. Despite stiff resistance from 30th seed Linda Noskova, Anisimova prevailed in three sets to book her place in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Pavlyuchenkova played only at the Eastbourne Open ahead of the London Major and impressed with a semifinal run. The Russian defeated Viktoriya Tomova, Kimberly Birrell, and Kamilla Rakhimova before falling to Maya Joint in the semifinals.

She then shifted her focus to the SW19 and has impressed so far. The 34-year-old defeated
Ajla Tomljanović, 31st seed Ashlyn Krueger, four-time Major champion Naomi Osaka, and Kartal to reach the last eight of the coveted grass-court Major.

Amanda Anisimova vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova Head-to-Head

Amanda Anisimova vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova Prediction

Anisimova entered Wimbledon having played more lead-up tournaments and produced slightly better results on grass than Pavlyuchenkova in 2025. The American boasts an impressive 29-12 win-loss record this season, including a solid 10-2 on grass. In contrast, the Russian holds a modest overall record of 13-9 but has performed well on grass standing at 7-1.

Anisimova is riding high, and her impressive run at SW19 has secured her a spot in the top 10 once the tournament concludes. The American holds a 67.57% win rate on grass, well ahead of the 34-year-old’s 52.17%.

Given their previous encounters and current form, Anisimova appears well-positioned to reach the semifinals, which would also be her second-ever at a Grand Slam after the 2019 French Open.

Pick: Anisimova in three sets.
