The ATP and WTA Tours delivered a packed week of high-profile action and tight battles. On the women’s side, the Qatar Open crown went to KarolÃna Muchová. Over on the ATP Tour, titles were claimed by Alex de Minaur in Rotterdam, Ben Shelton in Dallas, and home favorite Francisco Cerúndolo in Buenos Aires. Here’s how those results shook up the rankings.
Qatar Open Sees Amanda Anisimova Fall Out of Top 5, Victoria Mboko Makes Her Top 10 Debut
The Qatar Open saw some significant shifts in the WTA Rankings, with Muchová winning the final against Canadian teenager, Victoria Mboko. The runner-up finish in Doha earned Mboko 640 points, moving her from 13th to 10th on the WTA Rankings with 3246 points, her first time breaking into the Top 10.
This is a massive achievement by the youngster, who was ranked beyond 300 at the start of the 2025 season. Muchová herself had a boost of 1000 points with the title win, as she too is on the doorstep of breaking into the Top 10 once again, currently being on 11th on the WTA Rankings.
At the Top of the rankings, Amanda Anisimova fell out of the Top 5 after a failed title defense. Coming in as the defending champion, the American player had to retire in the third set in her opening-round contest against KarolÃna PlÃÅ¡ková. The loss meant she dropped a massive 990 points, dropping her from 4th to 6th on the Rankings.

Among the other notable players who received a significant ranking boost at the Qatar Open was former World No. 3 Maria Sakkari. The Greek player showed signs of her old form as she surged ahead in the draw, winning against the likes of Jasmine Paolini and Iga Świątek, before losing to Muchová in three sets in the semifinal. The deep run earned Sakkari 325 points, lifting her ranking by 17 spots, and she now sits at No. 33 with 1,425 points.
Alex de Minaur Reclaims Career-Best Ranking With a Win in Rotterdam
Alex de Minaur was third-time lucky at the ABM Amro Open, as the Australian won the title in Rotterdam after two runner-up finishes at the event for the last two years.
The Australian had a straight-set win over Félix Auger-Aliassime in the final, which saw him get a boost of 415 points, taking him to No. 6 from No.8 on the ATP Rankings, matching his career-best ranking. Auger-Aliassime, on the other hand, dropped one spot on the rankings, sitting at No. 7 with 4230 points.
In other events of the week, Ben Shelton triumphed over compatriot Taylor Fritz to win the Dallas Open. Shelton was in impressive form over the week, winning against the likes of Gabriel Dillo, Adrian Mannarino, and defending champion Denis Shapovalov in the semifinal. The win earned the American player 490 points and maintained his No. 9 ranking.
However, one player who saw an impressive jump was former World No. 3, Marin Čilić. The Croatian reached the semifinals in Dallas, defeating Learner Tien, Ethan Quinn, and Jack Pennington-Jones before losing to Fritz in the last four. The run saw him move up 18 spots on the Rankings, currently sitting on No. 43.
The ATP 250 event in Buenos Aires was won by the top seed and home favorite, Francisco Cerúndolo, who won against Luciano Darderi in the final. While Cerúndolo stayed on No. 18 on the Rankings even after his win, it was Darderi who moved up a spot and achieved a career-best spot of No. 21.
