Alex de Minaur was back in the winner’s list as the Australian won his 11th career title at the ABN Amro Open on Sunday. The Australian’s fiancée, WTA player Katie Boulter, congratulated her partner on winning the title. Boulter had won a title herself, winning the Ostrava Open last week, breaking an almost two-year title drought.
Katie Boulter Playfully Accuses Alex de Minaur Of Stealing Her Thunder
This is not the first time that de Minaur and Boulter have won titles one after the other on the Tour. Back in 2024, the couple won titles on the same week twice. In March of 2024, de Minaur won the Mexican Open in Acapulco, with Boulter being the champion. The couple repeated the feat in the grass-court season in June, with the Australian winning at the Rosmalen Championships, and the Brit claiming the title in Nottingham.
When prominent tennis journalist Bastien Fachan shared the couple’s feats, Boulter playfully responded, “He just can’t let me have a week.” Celebrating de Minaur’s win in Rotterdam, she shared a playful post on her Instagram story, captioning it, “Stop copying me..Another week, another title @alexdeminaur.”

For de Minaur, this was third-time lucky, as the Australian has reached the final in Rotterdam for the last two years but has come second to the likes of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. This year, he was the top seed in the field and began his campaign with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 win over Arthur Fils in the Round of 32, followed by another straight-set victory over former Major champion, Stan Wawrinka, in the second round.
In the quarterfinals, de Minaur faced his toughest opposition of the tournament in the form of home favorite Botic Van de Zandschulp. The Australian had to fight back from the brink of elimination, winning 3-6, 7-6 (4), 7-5 against the Dutchman. In the semifinal, he beat Ugo Humbert 6-4, 6-3. Even though the scoreline looks straightforward, de Minaur had saved all 10 break points he faced on his serve, not letting the Frenchman have any openings into the match.
Finally, the top seed faced the second-seeded Auger-Aliassime, with de Minaur winning 6-3, 6-2, despite trailing 1-3 against the Canadian in the head-to-head. After clinching the title on the third attempt, de Minaur shared a celebratory post on Instagram. He was relieved, stating that he could finally call himself a winner in Rotterdam. The Australian also congratulated Auger-Aliassime on having a good week.
“Third final in a row… and now I can say I actually like playing finals here 🤣 Different outcome this time – 11th ATP title 🏆…@felixaliassime congrats on a great week, and thank you everyone for your love and support @abnamroopen.”
In all likelihood, the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells will be the next event for both de Minaur and Boulter.
