Amanda Anisimova Gets Real About Struggling With ‘Hormonal Acne’ Due to Stress
Anisimova recently shared a picture of herself on social media, showing a clear complexion, free of acne or blemishes, while acknowledging that she usually posts images that make her appear flawless.
“Most of the time I post pictures where I look like this on Instagram,” Anisimova captioned her Instagram story.
The 24-year-old then shared another picture, unfiltered, showing her skin’s true condition, with visible acne and pimples. Anisimova explained that she struggles with hormonal acne, primarily triggered by stress. Despite following a skincare routine and strict dietary restrictions to manage her condition, she stated that stress worsens her breakouts the most.
“And a lot of the time I look like this ☠️ I’ve had my fair share of struggles with hormonal acne. I feel like stress is normally the biggest trigger for it, as I’ve tried almost everything. Skin care, strict dietary care restrictions etc. but it seems like it hits hardest whenever I’m most stressed,” she continued.
Anisimova expressed that she shared her reality about dealing with hormonal acne so that others who struggle with the same can relate and feel less isolated.
“I wanted to post this for anyone who knows the struggle that you’ re not alone in it, and it will pass! I hope this makes people who can relate feel seen 🤍 🥹 AND that is Instagram not always real 🤍,” Anisimova added.

On the tennis side of things, Anisimova last competed at the 2026 Miami Open. She was seeded sixth, and she began her campaign in the second round following a first-round bye. She defeated Ajla Tomljanović (6-1, 5-7, 6-4) in her opening match and then beat qualifier Yuliia Starodubtseva (6-4, 6-2) in the third round. Her run ended in the fourth round with a loss to the 12th seed Belinda Bencic (2-6, 2-6).
The former World No. 3 was scheduled to start her clay court season at the 2026 Charleston Open, but withdrew due to an injury sustained at the Miami Open. She was replaced in the tournament by Starodubtseva, who went on to become the runner-up.
Looking ahead, Anisimova will compete at the 2026 Madrid Open, which runs from April 21 to May 3, 2026. The tournament matches will be played on outdoor clay courts at La Caja Mágica in Madrid, Spain.
