The Kazakh defeated Alexei Popyrin, Frenchman Corentin Moutet, World No. 4 Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur in the quarterfinal to reach the next stage. He defeated the ATP Finals-qualified Australian star with a concluding score of 6-7(5), 6-4, 7-5.

Bublik on his Paris Masters SF against Félix Auger-Aliassime

Bublik and Auger-Aliassime both stand a fair chance of traveling to Turin for the ATP Finals. While the Canadian has a good chance of taking the last qualifying spot for the tournament, the Kazakh can make there as an alternate. So, their semifinal clash in Paris is very decisive.

“I can’t make it directly to Turin but I can make it as an alternate. And he can make it directly if he wins it. It’s gonna be a big match. He’s fighting for his spot, I’m fighting for an alternate. I hope its gonna be a good battle. I hope its gonna be a fair battle and that we show some good tennis,” Bublik said.

If Auger-Aliassime wins, he will reach his second Masters 1000 final while Bublik will reach his first if he comes out on top.
