Although Alex de Minaur could not attend his fiancée Katie Boulter’s first-round match at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, he supported her and celebrated her win from afar.
Last year at the grass court Major, Boulter had defeated Tatjana Maria in the first round before being eliminated by compatriot Harriet Dart in the second round. Meanwhile, De Minaur advanced to the quarterfinals but withdrew due to a hip injury.

Leading up to her home Grand Slam, Boulter participated in the 2025 Nottingham Open, where she triumphed over Lulu Sun and Sonay Kartal before being eliminated by eventual champion, McCartney Kessler, in the quarterfinals.
At Wimbledon, Boulter faced the ninth seed, Paula Badosa, in the first round. She started strong, winning the opening set 6-2. Then the Spaniard mounted a comeback to take the second set 6-3.
However, Boulter showed resilience, clinching the final set to win the match with a scoreline of 6-2, 3-6, 6-4. This victory marked the Brit’s first win over Badosa in their two encounters on the WTA Tour.

Following Boulter’s impressive victory over Badosa, her fiancé, De Minaur, took to social media to celebrate her achievement. He shared a heartwarming video of Boulter, beaming with joy during her post-match interview on the court.
“@katiecboulter LFG!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️,” De Minaur captioned his Instagram story.

Who Will Katie Boulter & Alex de Minaur Face Next at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships?
Following her victory over Badosa in the first round of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Boulter is set to face lucky loser Solana Sierra in the second round of the Grand Slam event. At the qualifiers, Sierra defeated Tessah Andrianjafitrimo 6-1, 6-3 and Leyre Romero Gormaz 6-4, 6-4 in the first and second rounds, respectively. She then faced Talia Gibson and lost 4-6, 6-3, 5-7.
However, a late withdrawal from Greet Minnen due to a back injury allowed the Argentine to secure her place in the main draw. In her first round match, Sierra defeated Olivia Gadecki 6-2, 7-6(8) to advance to the second round, where she will take on Boulter.
Boulter and Sierra have never faced each other on the WTA Tour, and their second-round match at the 2025 Wimbledon Championships will mark the first time these two players will compete against one another. The winner will advance to face either the 22nd seed Donna Vekić or Cristina Bucșa in the third round.
In the men’s draw, De Minaur is seeded 11th at the London Major and will kick off his campaign against Roberto Carballés Baena in the first round. The two players have met twice on the ATP Tour, with De Minaur emerging victorious in both encounters.
Their most recent match-up took place in the second round of the 2024 European Open in Antwerp, where the Australian won 2-6, 6-4, 6-2.
The winner of the first-round match between De Minaur and Baena will advance to face either Adam Walton or qualifier Arthur Cazaux in the second round of the 2025 Wimbledon Championships.
