Greek tennis star and former World No. 3 Stefanos Tsitsipas was recently seen enjoying a tranquil getaway in Namibia with Kristen Thoms, though the shared glimpses date back to last year’s offseason. Notably, the Greek was joined by the American just months after his separation from ex-girlfriend and former World No. 2 Paula Badosa, a development that took the tennis world by storm.

It would be fair to say that Tsitsipas endured a turbulent year both on and off the court, as his performances failed to fully reflect his potential, with ongoing injury concerns also playing a significant role.
His recurring back issues, similar to those that plagued him at Wimbledon and the US Open last year, cast doubt on his ability to compete consistently at the highest level. The 2025 season ultimately ended with the Greek finishing as World No. 36, compiling a 22–18 win–loss record.
Another unexpected chapter unfolded in his personal life last year when Tsitsipas and Badosa went their separate ways. Their relationship came to an end in July 2025; neither made a formal announcement.
The split instead became evident in the aftermath of their early exits at Wimbledon, as the two quietly unfollowed each other on Instagram and deleted their shared posts.
Tsitsipas and Badosa’s romance first blossomed at the Italian Open in Rome in May 2023, after which the couple regularly shared glimpses of their lives with fans through social media. Their relationship hit its first major hurdle in May 2024, when Badosa revealed on Instagram that they had chosen to “amicably part ways.”
The split, however, proved short-lived, lasting only a few weeks, with Tsitsipas later admitting that he eventually realized the support Badosa had consistently provided him.
However, months after the separation, Tsitsipas was seen enjoying a holiday in Namibia during the festive period last year, accompanied by Kristen Thoms, an American who has also played competitive tennis and previously represented Florida Atlantic University.
The pair made the most of their time in the country, taking in the dramatic landscapes of Sossusvlei, the famed salt and clay pan in Namibia’s Namib-Naukluft National Park, visiting Windhoek’s iconic Christuskirche, and immersing themselves in the local culture.
Injuries loomed large throughout Tsitsipas and Badosa’s time together, repeatedly disrupting both of their careers. When they began dating in 2023, Badosa was already sidelined by a serious back injury that kept her off the tour.
Similar concerns resurfaced this season, as recurring back problems again troubled the former World No. 2, forcing her to miss most of the clay-court swing, including late pullouts from Madrid and Rome.
After a first-round loss at Wimbledon, the Spaniard opted to skip the North American hard-court swing, with her season coming to a close at the China Open. She returned to action this year at the Brisbane International, starting her run with a 6-7(7), 6-4, 6-2 win over Marie Bouzková but eventually suffered a 3-6, 2-6 defeat to Elena Rybakina.
