Travis Kelce, entering his 13th NFL season, will turn 36 in October. This could very well be the final season for the three-time Super Bowl champion. He and Patrick Mahomes led the Kansas City Chiefs to a third straight Super Bowl, but they came up short of pulling off the unprecedented three-peat.
The Chiefs’ tight end is sporting a new look this offseason, and analyst Pat McAfee thinks music icon Taylor Swift may have inspired the change.

The Chiefs just wrapped up voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) last week. They’ll begin their mandatory minicamp on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Swift has stayed in Florida while Kelce prepares for the upcoming season.
The power couple was spotted in the crowd during Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final. The ten-time Pro Bowler looked noticeably slimmer compared to last season. He has told people close to him that he dropped nearly 25 pounds this offseason.
On an episode of “The Pat McAfee Show,” McAfee credited the pop star with helping spark Kelce’s transformation. He also reminded fans of the time Kelce texted him, saying he would return for the 2025 season and was focused on getting into the best shape of his life.
“Jeremy Fowler is now reporting that the Chiefs will see a slimmer Travis Kelce at minicamp next week, and we all know he is also taller,” McAfee said. “We saw him walking with Taylor at the Florida Panthers-Edmonton Oilers game.”
“I think they continue to inspire each other. I think they continue to motivate each other. I think they continue to be great for each other, and if Travis Kelce is all the way back, I think you immediately understand that the Chiefs are gonna be exactly where the Chiefs have been.”

Kelce didn’t quite look like himself during the 2024-25 season. The 35-year-old finished with 97 receptions for 823 yards, his lowest regular-season total since 2014.
His struggles continued into the playoffs. Kelce had just four catches for 39 yards in Super Bowl 59, including zero receptions in the first half. His best showing came in the Divisional Round against the Houston Texans, where he racked up 117 yards and a touchdown, including a 49-yard catch-and-run.
Even so, Kelce’s résumé remains one of the best in NFL history. He has topped 1,000 receiving yards in seven different seasons and continues to rank among the greatest tight ends of all time. He’ll aim to close out his legendary career with one more Super Bowl ring.
