Taylor Swift is one of the biggest celebrities in the world, selling out stadiums and always in the headlines. Swift and Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce have grabbed the spotlight since they began their relationship in 2023, and now the power couple is heavily rumored to tie the knot in New York next weekend.
However, days before the highly anticipated wedding, Swift made a virtual appearance at the farewell concert for country icon Alan Jackson, and she got a somewhat surprising reaction from the crowd.
Taylor Swift Gets Booed at Country Concert in Nashville
Jackson announced his plans to retire from performing ahead of this tour, which was labeled “Last Call: One More for the Road – The Finale.” Swift, who started her career in the country genre, paid homage to a legend by making a video appearance during the show at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was one of many celebrities, including Keith Urban, Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, and Luke Bryan, who paid tribute to Jackson with a live performance or a video.
However, unlike the other celebrities, Swift was not greeted particularly kindly by the crowd, as the pop icon was booed at the show.

This comes just days before Swift and Kelce are expected to get married. The exact details of the wedding are not yet confirmed, but reports say the couple will marry at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, New York.

The New York Times reported that Swift had rented Madison Square Garden for a multi-day celebration around the July 4 holiday weekend. The report said plans currently include an intimate gathering of around 100 guests on July 2, with a much larger celebration of roughly 1,000 attendees reportedly planned for July 3. It’s unclear if the July 2 event is a smaller, more intimate ceremony or if it’s a rehearsal dinner.
Also, Winick Productions filed a permit to use the area surrounding Madison Square Garden. City officials are coordinating with the NYPD over the expected increase in pedestrian traffic.
The pair will be married before the Chiefs kick things into full gear for training camp. Kelce was mulling retirement after the end of the 2025 NFL season, but he ultimately decided to return for a 14th NFL campaign.
Kelce has made 11 straight Pro Bowls and is looking to win his fourth Lombardi Trophy in what could be his final NFL season.
