Josh Allen has consistently been one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL during his career with the Buffalo Bills. He’s made the playoffs in each of the past six seasons and was named MVP last year.
The one major thing missing from his elite career so far is a Super Bowl ring — he hasn’t even appeared in one yet. And after a disastrous game in Week 10 of the 2025 season, a former champion believes his window to do so is closing.

Josh Allen’s Super Bowl Hopes Fading Fast
The Dolphins stunned the Bills 30-13 against all odds. This loss is enough for Damien Woody to believe that Allen’s window to win a ring is closing. He explained why during a “Get Up” appearance on ESPN.
“They’ve lost their window. They’ve royally messed up their window. They’ve had the AFC East locked down for six years, and they have nothing to show for it. And guess what? Here are the Patriots. They’re back again. So you look at Josh Allen, you look at this game yesterday… This is not a trap game. This is not a bad game; this is more of a bad sign for Buffalo,” stated Woody.
The former offensive lineman described the Bills’ loss to the Dolphins as much more than just a bad week, especially when the New England Patriots are on a roll.
The Patriots (8-2), first in the AFC East, appear to have found their franchise quarterback in Drake Maye, who currently ranks higher than Allen on PFSN’s Impact Rankings this year. Maye is also currently the favorite to win the NFL MVP award for this season.

Woody believes the Patriots are here to stay again. But the Bills? They are on borrowed time after failing to beat the Dolphins in what should’ve been one of the easier games on their schedule, which could end up closing their Super Bowl window. Allen has yet to win a conference championship (0-2), let alone reach the big game.
That said, Buffalo has a lot to clean up, especially on offense. They need answers for when James Cook is bottled up, like he was this weekend, and they’ve got to find something more dynamic in the passing game beyond short throws to Khalil Shakir.
Even with those flaws, the Bills still have plenty of talent — and the reigning MVP under center. They need to rebound fast, but declaring their title hopes dead feels a little premature.
