Stefon Diggs and Trevon Diggs are taking their time in the offseason. The brothers remain free agents, meaning they can decide to join forces during the 2026 season. And the Washington Commanders are emerging as a possible landing spot for the duo.
Stefon Diggs Teases Pairing With Trevon Diggs As 2026 Season Approaches
In a recent video, the Diggs brothers were asked what it would take for them to join forces with the Washington Commanders, an emerging team that might need experience to return to the fight in the conference.
Up to this point, they haven’t played together in the NFL. Trevon was released by the Dallas Cowboys late in 2025, while Stefon was abruptly released by the New England Patriots following their Super Bowl run. The receiver was asked about a double signing with the Commanders, and he teased the possibility with the fan:
“That’s what everybody is talking about right now,” Stefon said. “We gonna talk about it real soon though.”

The brothers are at different points in their careers. Trevon emerged as a young star for the Dallas Cowboys, but after signing a five-year deal in 2023, his performances started to be affected by injuries. After Pro Bowl selections in 2021 and 2022, his career hasn’t been the same.
Stefon, on the other hand, had a great 2025 season with the Patriots after a torn ACL suffered in 2024. He finished the season with 85 receptions, 1,013 yards, and four touchdowns. His strong performances earned him an 87.0 impact score in our PFSN WR Impact Metric, enough to place him at No. 4 among wideouts for the season.
He’s already 32, and any deal won’t make him a long-term solution for any team. However, Stefon could be an important contributor for a contender. Washington, who’s looking to return to the playoffs after a disappointing 2025, could also use his experience to give Jayden Daniels a new weapon.

One of the most important aspects will be how Trevon fares after missing a long period of the previous season due to injuries. While his older brother continued to produce, Trevon’s impact has diminished over the past two years, and the Cowboys have not regretted releasing him.
While Stefon is the best option of the two at this point, it wouldn’t hurt for any team to also take a flyer on the younger brother to see if they can get some extra help at cornerback.
