Stefon Diggs Reuniting With Brian Daboll in Tennessee Would Be Exactly What Cam Ward Needs

Stefon Diggs reuniting with Brian Daboll in Tennessee would give Cam Ward the veteran presence the Titans desperately need.

It’s been 11 years, and Stefon Diggs is still in the hunt for that elusive Super Bowl ring. Could there be something special waiting in Tennessee? The Tennessee Titans have been a losing franchise throughout their existence, but with key pieces seemingly falling into place lately, the Music City could be a diamond in the rough.

How could Diggs capitalize?

Stefon Diggs and Cam Ward Could Form a Dangerous Duo in Tennessee

Diggs might have more years behind him than in front, but that would make him an ideal candidate to pair with a young quarterback, Cam Ward, in Tennessee. Ward showed plenty of individual brilliance in his rookie season in 2025, and a reliable veteran next to Calvin Ridley out wide should serve him well.

The Titans demonstrated a need for wide receiver depth in 2025, posting a 57.0 PFSN Offense Impact. After WR1 Calvin Ridley suffered a season-ending leg injury, Ward was forced to turn to tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo and wideout Elic Ayomanor for help. Neither could reach the 600-yard mark, as Tennessee’s offense ranked third from the bottom in the NFL.

Diggs has a proven ability to hold his own just fine as the top receiver of an offense. His top-tier skill, combined with a decade’s worth of experience, should fit well into the new regime in the Music City.

“Diggs, 32, is a four-time Pro Bowl receiver, but his postseason lull contributed to him getting cut by the Patriots,” Fox Sports’ Greg Auman suggested. “Only four touchdowns last year, so he might never get back to his Bills heyday from 2020-23. His next team might pay him half of what the Patriots did, but he can still be a solid No. 2 receiver somewhere.”

The Titans of 2026 will look a lot different compared to 2025. Defensive guru Robert Saleh was hired as head coach, and seasoned offensive coordinator Brian Daboll will run the offense.

It would be a reunion of sorts for Daboll and Diggs, with the two having shared time under the Buffalo Bills banner up north. The receiver flourished in the coordinator’s system in Buffalo, recording his best season yet under Daboll with 127 receptions for 1,535 yards and eight touchdowns in 2020.

The bigger spark with Daboll in Tennessee, however, could be how well Ward fits into his schemes as a quarterback. The coach had a successful run with Bills star Josh Allen, a strong thrower and mobile rusher. Similarly, Ward’s mobility should see him succeed in Daboll’s game plan.

While signing Diggs would make things interesting in the AFC South, how the Titans turn out in 2026 remains to be seen.
