Miami Dolphins fans have had enough of starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who has been performing in a less-than-stellar way on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
In the third quarter, the Dolphins were trailing the Browns 24-6. Tagovailoa opened the Dolphins’ first drive in the second half by throwing a pick-6, and that was enough for Dolphins fans to see.
After another interception in the fourth quarter, Dolphins fans got their wish – Quinn Ewers took over for Tagovailoa, who was benched.
Will Dolphins QB Quinn Ewers See Playing Time?
After watching Tagovailoa throw that second pick, Miami fans headed over to X and let their voices be heard.
One fan simply wrote, “Let Quinn Ewers play. Tua is so a**”. That sentiment is shared by a lot of fans as they appear to be done with Tagovailoa, the former Alabama Crimson Tide standout, in leading their team.
Ewers played his college ball for the Texas Longhorns after transferring from the Ohio State Buckeyes. Ewers is listed as the No. 2 QB on the Dolphins depth chart at this time.
According to the PFSN NFL Offense Impact metrics, the Miami offense had a 77.1 Offense Impact Score and graded out at a C+ entering Sunday’s game against the Browns.
Another fan is also calling for Ewers to take the field. This fan wrote, “Put in Quinn Ewers at this point smh!”

This fan already wants Ewers to get ready for a start in the Dolphins’ next game. The fan wrote, “Quinn Ewers, prepare for your first career start soon.” Another fan wrote on X, “Start Quinn Ewers for the rest of the season (you’re not going anywhere with Zach Wilson)”.
In looking at his third- and fourth-down splits this season, Tugavailoa has a 57.4 passer rating when throwing past the sticks. When throwing short of the sticks, he has a 91.2 passer rating.
Well, this Miami fan is about ready to see McDaniel make a change at quarterback right now. The fan wrote on X, “Time to see what Quinn Ewers has to offer.”
In the fourth quarter and with Miami still down 31-6 to the Browns, Tagovailoa was 11-of-21 passing for 89 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. He’s been sacked twice for 13 yards in losses and has three carries for six yards.
His second interception of the game came near the Dolphins’ goal line, and McDaniel, who is already on the hot seat, could soon become the second head coach to get fired this season.

Tagovailoa followed that second interception with a third in the game, causing more Dolphins fans to raise their voices and want Ewers in ASAP. McDaniel must have heard their pleas and made the move.
As for his season statistics entering Sunday’s game, Tagovailoa had 1,213 yards passing for 11 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
He was the No. 5 overall draft pick by Miami in the 2020 NFL Draft. Tagovailoa has had his troubles and, at times, has shown an inability to get the Miami offense going in a good rhythm.
With Ewers seeing the field on Sunday, Dolphins fans have made their voice heard. They want to see a permanent change at QB, if not this Sunday, then before the team’s next game. Some of them might just be tired of all the drama that has surrounded Tagovailoa at times.
If Miami loses to the Browns, their season record will fall to 1-6, 0-4 in away games from Hard Rock Stadium. Could it be time for Ewers to take over on a full-time basis? Miami fans will have to wait and see.
