AC Milan Trying To Sign Christian Pulisic’s USMNT Teammate As Free Agent in Summer

USMNT hero Christian Pulisic could play alongside one of his compatriots at AC Milan after the end of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

United States men’s national team (USMNT) ace Christian Pulisic has gone from strength to strength at AC Milan since arriving in July 2023. And another USMNT man could also relish a similar fate at the Massimiliano Allegri-coached outfit in the near future.

Christian Pulisic’s AC Milan in Race To Sign USMNT Ace

According to Calciomercato, AC Milan have earmarked Juventus star Weston McKennie as a potential summer signing, with the midfielder’s current contract set to expire this June. The San Siro outfit are keen to unite McKennie and Pulisic through a Bosman move.

However, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto has recently downplayed the Rossoneri‘s interest in McKennie. He claimed on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel that Pulisic’s team are only keeping tabs on the Juventus ace and have no real interest in signing him.

On the other hand, Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has insisted that McKennie has a number of other suitors owing to his contract situation. Teams from Serie A, the Premier League, La Liga, and Ligue 1 are monitoring the versatile star’s summer availability. A few Major League Soccer (MLS) clubs have also expressed interest in signing the USMNT player.

McKennie, who will turn 28 this August, is considered a vital first-team starter at Juventus, operating either as a central midfielder or a right-sided midfielder. He has been in excellent form of late, scoring five goals for his side since the turn of the year.

So far, the ex-Schalke 04 man has started 29 of his 33 appearances across all competitions for Juventus this campaign. He has found the back of the net seven times and laid out four assists for the Luciano Spalletti-coached side in the ongoing 2025-26 term.

Meanwhile, USMNT great Landon Donovan has claimed that McKennie should be considered an undroppable player for his national team ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

“It’s weird to say this now, but there was a time where we were kind of not sure if Wes was even going to be in the mix with the national team. But now, how do you leave him off the field?” Donovan recently remarked on the ‘Unfiltered Soccer’ podcast.

Donovan said, “He’s playing at Juventus, a top four team, and has probably been the best player in that league over the past couple of months. Christian has been the best player in the league for a few years. This is real stuff… we didn’t do this in the past.”

The AC Milan-linked midfielder has netted 11 goals in 62 matches for the USMNT so far.
