Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham Backed To Make Sensational Move for 2018 FIFA World Cup Winner

A former Manchester United star has offered an optimistic view about Wrexham potentially signing a FIFA World Cup winner.

Wrexham, co-owned by Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds, has cemented themselves as one of the most prominent success stories in soccer over the past few years. And, an ex-France international has claimed that Wrexham should sign a 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. So, who is the mystery FIFA World Cup winner Wrexham should try to snap up this year?

Wrexham Told To Launch Move for 32-Year-Old

During a recent interaction with Grosvenor Casinos, former Manchester United, Everton, and Fulham striker Louis Saha suggested Paul Pogba should leave AS Monaco this summer.

“He has to really think about his future. AS Monaco has been great to provide him the right platform for him to improve. I will see in the summer what his situation is going to be, how many games he has played. I am sure that clubs will be interested,” Saha remarked.

When asked if the former Manchester United midfielder would prove to be a fine signing for Wrexham, the Frenchman replied, “It would be fantastic for social media. Paul has his eyes on Hollywood and wants to be an actor in some way, so it might make a lot of sense.”

Pogba, 32, has struggled for minutes owing to multiple injuries since joining AS Monaco on a Bosman move past July. He featured in only 30 minutes of action for Monaco this season after making his club debut last November.

As a result, AS Monaco Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thiago Scuro has recently stated that Pogba could leave the club after the end of the 2025-26 season.

“The program and the plan for Paul is not working the way we expected in the beginning. He is very disturbed by the fact that he is struggling… (he wants) to be more available, to increase the minutes on the pitch,” Scuro commented on Pogba’s initial struggles.

“If it does not work, for sure, both the parties can sit down in the summer and try to have another discussion… where do we go? It’s not the moment to have this discussion because we are engaged on trying to find the solution and bring him back,” Scuro concluded.

Pogba, whose Monaco contract runs out in June 2027, is back playing after a four-year doping ban for failing a drug test in September 2023. The former Juventus star had his ban later reduced to 18 months and became eligible to play last March.
