Casemiro, who will turn 34 in a month, has decided against activating his one-year contract extension at the Red Devils, according to The Athletic. As a result, the defensive midfielder will enter the free agent market after the expiration of his current contract this June.

Following his announcement, the five-time UEFA Champions League and three-time La Liga winner claimed he will continue to be at his best until the end of the ongoing season.

“I will carry Manchester United with me throughout my entire life. From the first day that I walked out at this beautiful stadium, I felt the passion of Old Trafford and the love that I now share with our supporters for this special club,” Casemiro told club media.
