Manchester United stunned Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday, winning 3-2 at the Emirates. David Beckham took the opportunity to mock his son after the surprise result.
David Beckham Has a Message for His Son
Matheus Cunha scored a stunning winner in the 87th minute to seal the victory at the Emirates. Lisandro Martinez’s own goal opened the scoring before Bryan Mbeumo equalized in the first half.
Patrick Dorgu silenced the fans inside the stadium with a stunner from outside the box early in the second half. The Gunners were given hope after Mikel Merino scored in the 84th minute, but their joy lasted just three minutes as Cunha quickly struck at the other end.
Beckham, a Manchester United legend, was thrilled after the final whistle at the Emirates. The Englishman was among the millions of fans celebrating the win, which made it two victories in two matches for new manager Michael Carrick.
However, at least one member of the Beckham household was in a bad mood. Romeo Beckham grew up knowing his father played for the Red Devils but is an Arsenal fan. Cruz is also reported to be a supporter of the Gunners, but he was not tagged in the post, suggesting the father-son duo were watching the match together.
The 50-year-old took the opportunity to take a dig at his son on Instagram, posting a story featuring an old photo from his Manchester United days. He wrote a cheeky three-word message for his son that read: “You ok Romeo??”
The caption was accompanied by six hearts — two each in red, white, and black, in Red Devils colors.

However, Romeo was not taking it lying down. He responded with a story on his account featuring the Premier League table and telling his father to “mind the gap” between the Gunners at the top and the Red Devils sitting in fourth.
Arsenal sit atop the table with 50 points after 23 matches this season. The Gunners have collected just two points from their last three matches, allowing the clubs below them to close the gap.
Manchester United are among those who have edged closer but still sit 12 points behind the leaders. They have moved into UEFA Champions League qualification spots and will be keen to return to European football next season after finishing 15th last year.
