Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers are going through a rough stretch. The Steelers have won just two of their past seven games, losing the top of the AFC North in the process. They currently have a 6-6 record, and their playoff chances are not favorable.
The Steelers have had many defensive problems, but recent performances by quarterback Aaron Rodgers have also been uninspiring. He finished the 26-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills with 10 completions on 21 attempts and no touchdowns or interceptions. He left the game briefly with an injury but returned in the third quarter.
Skip Bayless Criticizes Aaron Rodgers Following Poor Performance Against Bills
The veteran quarterback struggled on many fronts against the Bills, who scored 23 points in the second half and dominated the game in all phases.
After the game, many fans and analysts took to social media to voice their opinions on Rodgers. Skip Bayless was one of them. He stated that Rodgers is “battered and washed” and predicted the Steelers would miss the playoffs.
“The Pittsburgh Steelers are now 6-6, tied with the Ravens, two games ahead of the Bengals. Aaron Rodgers is battered and washed. Joe Burrow’s Bengals are going to win the AFC N,” he posted on X.

The return of Joe Burrow could change the picture in the AFC North. The Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens are both 6-6, while the Cincinnati Bengals are 4-8. However, Bayless believes Cincinnati will walk away with the division title at the end of the regular season.
The Steelers are struggling to move the ball, and their offense has stalled. In the past four games, they have averaged just 19.7 points per game, with Rodgers throwing only three touchdowns in that span. It’s clear that his best days are behind him, and recent performances have been alarming.
Rodgers, who ranks as the No. 27 quarterback in our PFSN QB Impact Metric, has also said that he does not think the coaching staff is at fault for recent performances, instead putting the blame on the players:
Aaron Rodgers says the struggles are on the players, not the coaches.
“I believe in the coaching staff. I believe in Mike Tomlin. That’s why I came here. And players need to take accountability, myself included, and I will continue to. I need to play better.”

How the season ultimately concludes for Pittsburgh remains to be seen, but what once appeared to be a promising campaign with their new quarterback now risks ending in disappointment — and potentially the first losing record of Mike Tomlin’s tenure. With five weeks remaining, the team still has an opportunity to reverse course.
