The NFL has seen its fair share of rivalries on the field. However, sometimes matters escalate out of hand, leading to a glorious career slip-up in the process. One of the most recent examples of an NFL rookie falling victim to his own anger was Shilo Sanders, brother to Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders, and son of Coach Prime.
In the 2025 preseason, Sanders was playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent. In a game against the Buffalo Bills, he threw a punch at tight end Zach Davidson for pushing him even after the play was over.
Davidson continued to block Sanders past the whistle, and the latter did not take it very sportingly. This led to an immediate ejection. Now, he has opened up about the day and what happened after the ejection.
Shilo Sanders Turned His Ejection Into Artistic Fuel and Recorded a Song in One Night
While an ejection can cause stress, anxiety, or depression for players, Sanders chose to use it constructively. On his Twitch stream, he revealed how he used the situation to pursue his artistic prowess.
Sanders revealed how everything started before the game. “I just made a beat just randomly before the game, and played, got ejected all that stuff… I went to the locker room… ‘Come up here, come up brothers’ all that and went home,” he said.
Explaining how he coped with it, Sanders said, “First thing I did, opened my computer. Sat down in my studio, started playing beats and stuff, and I stopped on the beat that I made the first song on this album to. That I just made before I went to the game, and I recorded this whole song that night.”
While Shilo shared the post-locker room experience after his ejection, his brother, Deion Sanders Jr., had previously spoken on social media about what happened after the player was ejected.
Deion Jr. highlighted how he “watched this on TV in disbelief.” As soon as Shilo went to the locker room, he called up his brother to talk about what he felt about the on-field incident.
Deion outlined, “He’s [Shilo] like, ‘So what do you do every day on the daily basis… like what do you wake up and do or what do you wake up and think about when you stop playing football?’ [We] Get on the phone for like an hour until the end of the game. He’s like, ‘Damn.’ Shilo said, ‘Man…. So you think it’s over with for me?'”
On the call, Deion Jr. kept it real with his brother and bared it all to him.
“I said, ‘Bro, I ain’t gonna lie, it’s over with bro.’ I said, ‘It’s over with for him. I’m not gonna even… You know, keep working, you’ll probably get another trial somewhere and stuff, but it’s over with. For the Bucs, it’s over.'”
Whether Sanders ever gets a chance again is still a question for the future. For now, he is doing what he does best: giving time to his musical passion and spending time with fans on Twitch.
