Shedeur Sanders Breaks Silence After Hilariously Getting Trolled by Shilo Sanders for Wild Speeding Ticket Saga

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders has caught heat for multiple speeding tickets in a week, but his brother Shilo's all-time troll-job got Shedeur's attention.

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders landed in hot water after being ticketed twice in one week for driving over 100 miles per hour. The Colorado product already faced media scrutiny, but the speeding incidents turned up the heat.

Sanders even dealt with an all-time troll job by his brother, Shilo Sanders. The quarterback recently responded to his brother on social media.

Shedeur Sanders Laughs Off Brother Shilo’s Trolling After Speeding Incidents

Shedeur was arguably the highest-profile prospect in NFL draft history and endured an embarrassing fall to the fifth round. He’s now part of Cleveland’s crowded quarterback room and balled out during the team’s minicamp.

While Shedeur has been competing for the Browns’ QB1 job, Shilo has been trying to establish himself with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The safety was signed as an undrafted free agent after a six-year college career.

He’s considered a long shot to make Tampa Bay’s roster; however, that didn’t stop him from taking a shot at his brother.

It would be interesting to know how this went over with their father, Hall of Fame cornerback and current Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, but Shedeur seemingly shook it off quickly.

He responded to his brother’s video on X by laughingly saying, “He gotta watch for me when he’s crossing the road. C’mon bro. You can’t be trolling your own brother. That was funny, though. That was definitely funny when he said that. The situation wasn’t funny, but how he said it was.”

Sanders had firmly established himself in the Browns’ quarterback battle thanks to an impressive minicamp performance in which he completed 77.4% of his passes (the best of the four quarterbacks) and threw nine touchdowns to just one interception.

He had the early advantage over former Oregon quarterback Dillon Gabriel, but the speeding tickets damaged much of the goodwill Shedeur had built up with the media. The speeding violations shouldn’t threaten his spot on the roster, but it’s not a good look for a late-round pick.

Browns’ Quarterback Battle Update

Cleveland had to overhaul its offense after having a historically bad unit in 2024.  The team fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and promoted Tommy Rees. Then, the Browns traded for Kenny Pickett, signed Joe Flacco, and selected Gabriel and Shedeur.

Pickett and Flacco are expected to battle for the Week 1 starting job. Whoever loses that battle likely will be moved before the regular season begins. That means the rookies are competing for the backup job.

Gabriel struggled during Cleveland’s offseason program, completing just 57.8% of his passes during sessions that were open to the media. Shedeur has the tools to win that competition, but he’ll have to clean things up off the field to have a legitimate chance.
