Shedeur Sanders has struggled to maintain the hype from his NFL debut with the Cleveland Browns. His performance has steadily declined in recent regular-season games.
In Week 15, the Chicago Bears easily neutralized Sanders and improved to a 10-4 record, winning six of their last seven games. Sanders, meanwhile, struggled to produce, posting numbers well below expectations. This has fueled debates about his ability to perform at a high professional level.
Cleveland Browns Not Planning to Part Ways with Shedeur Sanders
According to insider Mary Kay Cabot on “The Dawgs Podcast,” Browns management is not considering major changes at quarterback. The current trend suggests that Sanders will remain the starting quarterback next season.
Kevin Stefanski’s poor game reading in crucial moments is an ongoing problem. This fact, along with the news they won’t make a change at quarterback, devastates Browns fans, who now expect even greater difficulty achieving strong results in 2026.
Here’s what Mary Kay Cabot said about Shedeur Sanders on 92.3 The Fan.

Sanders, who ranks 36th in the PFSN QB Impact metric with a D grade, completed 18 of 35 passes for 177 yards, with no touchdowns. He threw three interceptions. Two of those occurred in the third quarter and helped the Bears build a comfortable lead.
That result leaves the Browns even more isolated in last place in the AFC North with a 3-11 record, behind the Cincinnati Bengals (4-10), Baltimore Ravens (7-7), and Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6).
The Decisive Interceptions Suffered by Sanders Against the Bears
The first interception occurred when D’Marco Jackson deflected a pass from Sanders in the air and then intercepted the ball deep in Cleveland territory. While the play was not directly attributed to a quarterback error, fans took note of what Williams did to DJ Moore on the next play.
On the next drive, Sanders threw a long pass to Jerry Jeudy in the end zone. The ball bounced off the receiver’s hands and was intercepted by Jaylon Johnson, who covered him well. Nine plays later, D’Andre Swift ran for a 17-yard TD.
The third interception occurred in the middle of the fourth quarter during a Browns attempt to get back in the game. Sanders attempted a long pass to Harold Fannin Jr., but missed the target, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson intercepted the pass, which resulted in a field goal and a 31-point total for the Bears.

On the last drive, Sanders completed eight passes and moved the team to the 10-yard line, but two sacks and a turnover ended the drive, closing the game with a score of 31-3.
Considering that the next challenge in Week 16 will be against the Buffalo Bills, Sanders will need much more focus and concentration to avoid another embarrassing performance.
