The Seattle Seahawks are officially Super Bowl champions. Mike Macdonald’s team trashed the New England Patriots 29-13, with a dominant defensive performance and a great game from Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker. By winning the title, the Seahawks also made history.
Seahawks Committed Zero Turnovers During Super Bowl LX Run
Turnovers are a key part of every football game. Even the best teams in the league commit a few, and sometimes multiple, in a single game. Unless you’re the Seattle Seahawks in the postseason.
Seattle became the first team in the history of the league to go on a postseason run without a turnover. They scored at least 29 points in each of the three games, forced seven takeaways, and did not give the ball away.
Regarding turnovers, the Seahawks were far from perfect during the regular season. They forced 25, but also gave the ball away 28 times. The -3 difference had them at No. 21 for the 2025 regular season, but when the stakes became higher, Seattle delivered with near perfection.
The key play of the game happened in the fourth quarter. With the Patriots trailing by 15 and orchestrating a final comeback attempt, quick pressure forced Drake Maye to throw a wobbling pass, which fell to Uchenna Nwosu’s lap. The EDGE intercepted the ball and returned for a touchdown, making the score 29-7 and putting an end to New England’s chances.
Sam Darnold’s Ghosts Left Him During The Postseason
Until Super Bowl 60, the most famous moment of Sam Darnold’s career happened in 2019. As a second-year quarterback, he had an awful performance against the New England Patriots in a primetime game. After multiple turnovers, he told head coach Adam Gase on the sidelines, “I’m seeing ghosts.”
The phrase became famous after he could not deliver on expectations in New York. Darnold left the Jets for the Carolina Panthers and later had stints with the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings.
His career was revived, leading to a three-year contract signed with the Seahawks during the 2025 offseason. He ranked 13th in PFSN’s NFL QB Impact Metric with a score of 78.7.
Ghosts won’t be following Darnold after he becomes a Super Bowl champion. Even though it wasn’t the best game of the season against the Patriots, he got the job done, and that’s all he’ll be remembered for. In one of the most impressive comeback stories of the decade, he finished in the best possible way.
