Tonight at 6:30 p.m. EST on Fox, the Los Angeles Rams will take on the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC Conference Championship game to determine which team will be playing in the Super Bowl on Feb. 8.
Former Ram and current Seahawks Cooper Kupp will look to send his former team home tonight. Before the game, Kupp showed off a jersey honoring a Seattle sports legend.
Seahawks’ Cooper Kupp Honors Former Seattle Mariner
On social media, the NFL posted a video of Kupp walking into Lumen Field wearing a Ken Griffey Jr. jersey.
Griffey was drafted with the first overall pick of the first round in the 1987 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners. Over two stints, he played 13 seasons in Seattle. Over his entire career, he won a plethora of awards, including the MLB MVP Award, the Home Run Derby, the Gold Glove, the Silver Slugger, and induction into the Hall of Fame.

Now, Kupp has the chance to bring a championship back to Seattle, and he’s showing the love for the city by wearing the jersey.
In PFSN’s NFL Wide Receiver Impact Metric (WRi), Kupp ranked as the 57th-best receiver in the 2025 regular season with an impact score of 73.2 and a letter grade of C. In 16 games, he caught 47 passes for 593 receiving yards and only two touchdowns in the regular season. In the postseason, he’s caught 5 passes for 60 receiving yards.

Despite the Seahawks finishing the regular season with a record of 14-3 and earning the top seed in the NFC playoff picture, this was the worst season of Kupp’s career in terms of PFSN’s WRi. WRi includes data from the 2019 – 2025 season, but it doesn’t include Kupps’ first two seasons, which were 2017 and 2018.
The best season of his career was, without a doubt, the 2021 NFL season. Kupp ranked first overall in PFSN’s WRi with an impact score of 99.4 and a letter grade of A+. His 2021 season is also the second-best in PFSN’s combined WRi history, trailing only Tyreek Hill’s 2023 season with the Miami Dolphins.
In 2021, Kupp finished the season with 145 receptions for 1947 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns. In the playoffs, he caught 33 passes for 478 yards and six touchdowns. Aside from winning the 2021 AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year, he also won the Super Bowl MVP award in the team’s 23-20 win against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Seahawks look to get themselves back to the Super Bowl for the first time since the 2014 NFL season. Despite his lack of production this year, Kupp is a playoff veteran and still has the potential to turn it up for the playoffs.
